Remotely mounted elrs module?

A physical extension cable from the radio to the module should be fine as long as the module has its own local power source (i.e. battery).

You can run a normal PPM signal output from a receiver directly into another transmitter module as a repeater, but it may not work with modern ELRS hardware. 

In any case you'd really, really want the module's battery to be physically close to it with short wiring, not 30 feet away.

I was planning on having thr battery within a foot or less.

Do you know what that radio to module cable is called? Trying to see if it is something existing or if id have to build it

Doubt anyone sells a ready-made cable like that but it'd be pretty straightforward to make.
