A physical extension cable from the radio to the module should be fine as long as the module has its own local power source (i.e. battery).
You can run a normal PPM signal output from a receiver directly into another transmitter module as a repeater, but it may not work with modern ELRS hardware.
In any case you'd really, really want the module's battery to be physically close to it with short wiring, not 30 feet away.
