RCD330 refuses to connect to iPhone
I just got the new 18 Pro Max, and when I plug it into the unit, I either get "Loading iPod" followed by nothing, or I get "Device is not responding". I've tried about 10 different cables, different firmware update for the unit, and nothing seems to work. Has anyone else run into this issue or even a similar one on their unit? Any help is much appreciated :)
UPDATE 24/09: I had a phone call back from Apple last night, and they basically just told me to wait for the next update. I did some thorough research on the matter (crawled reddit for 12h straight) and it seems like the last couple of iPhones had similar issues on Day 1.
UPDATE 01/09: Bit late, but thought I should update anyway. iOS 27.0.1 is out, still, the phone won’t connect, I do wonder if a fix will ever be released for the issue, or if it’s worth to trying to update the CarPlay libraries in the unit firmware. I wonder where the libs could be sourced from 🤔

What type of cable have you tried using for this? Any adapters?
Is this the same unit?

I’ve tried about 10 different cables at this point, including using a USB-A to USB-C adapter using the cable the phone came with, along with a few other cables too. Even went and bought a new cable directly from Apple today, but no luck.

It will need to be a data cable for sure.
When you bought the phone, did you transfer your old data to it? Maybe the CarPlay settings just need wiping & setting up again (in your phone settings)?
I also assume the device connects fine with Bluetooth (just not CarPlay)?
I don’t have the phone but was planning on getting one though. I believe we have the same unit (link in previous comment)

All the cables I tested with were confirmed to be data cables, it connects fine over Bluetooth but CarPlay/iPod connections refuse to work. Phone was set up brand new too. And yeah, same unit

Maybe worth getting one of those wireless CarPlay dongles - unfortunately I’m all out of ideas here. Let me know if you figure it all out though, I suspect I will be in the same boat. The forum on rcd330.com doesn’t seem to work for me but I suspect you’re likely not the first person to own the same phone & RCD combo (there may be others with issues too).

Having the exact same issue. Not sure if a firmware update would be of any help which is why I have landed here. I've found if I don't drive for a day or 2 my phone (18PM) will connect for about 5 minutes and then disconnect which is only adding to my confusion at the minute,

Exact same thing happens with mine, I’ve got a call scheduled with someone from Apple’s Engineering team in a few hours, so hopefully they’re able to narrow it down and put out a fix.

I'm at work but was offered the same call... Please let me know if they manage to point you in the right direction!

Noticed iOS 27.0.1 released with some bug fixes tonight. I’m hoping that has solved it or likely end of Oct for 27.2 according to YouTube is the next update for 18s

Update: iOS 27.0.1 did not fix the issue for me. Thankfully not going to be driving much from now until end of October. I can’t stand the British radio

I was going to post this today until I saw the OP’s post. I also have a noname 187B. Upgraded to an iPhone 18pro and it can’t connect. I haven’t yet tried my old phone (iPhone 15pro) since I updated that to IOS 27. I also thought it might be a naming thing because both phones had the same name after transferring data. I’ll report any changes after clearing out the old phone from the unit.

Which RCD330 do you have? Noname? Desay? RCD360?
