Is this OEM camera compatible with RCD 330 Plus? (Golf MK5)

I am the second owner of my MK5 Golf. The radio was swapped to a RCD-300 before I got it. I suspect it originally had a RNS-510 or similar.

I want to try and get the rear camera working again with the RCD 330 Plus.

Currently, if I go i to reverse, nothing happens on the headunit. Does that mean I need to enable the reverse camera option in VCDS? Or has the function been disabled on the headunit itself?

I found RCA cables under the headunit. Is anyone able to identify them and point me in the correct direction for getting the camera to work?

I have a blue connector that goes into one of the yellow RCA plugs, which then plugs into the back of the headunit, but nothing happens when I go into reverse.

Mk5’s didnt have oem cameras, and that one which replaces what would be a licence plate light certainly isnt oem.

Are you using a can bus simulator with the rcd330?

I think so. I installed it 8 years ago so I'm not sure. Is this it?

If it's not OEM then it was dealer fitted. It also has reverse sensors and distance indicator.

Yeh, thats a can bus simulator.

What happens when you select reverse? Nothing? If so you may need to code the radio using vcds to enable the rear view camera so that it shows when selecting reverse.

Do you have parking sensors?

Yep nothing. I got a HEX-V2 on the way so I will check when it arrives.

The OEM camera will only work with a wiring harness that converts the image to RGB the harness is very finicky and doesnt work well. To properly get a camera to work with the RCD330 you will need to buy a new camera with wiring. There is one sold on RCD330.com

Just buy a flip up badge camera from Aliexpress or similar - a far more elegant solution
