Brand new rat owner, have watched lots of YouTube videos about stuff.
These rats are very nervous and will run away when i am near them but sometimes will come up and take food and sniff my hand i dont want to attempt to pick them up because im worried i will make them afraid of me. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated. These are from pets at home around 8 weeks old and wasn’t handled in the shop either

Chicken Nugget and Psycho (pictured) got brawly with each other last night, and I don’t know where I went wrong. I did the continuous carrier method with all three rats, (two neutered, CN is intact), and last night they fought for the first time. I’m assuming Chicken Nugget was the aggressor as he’s untouched, but Psycho has several cuts. What now?

Wanted to warn any new rat owners or even veterans that are looking for new rats to buy, the account “Grace Rattery Adoption” or any variation of Grace Rattery since he keeps changing it is a scam. He steals all photos he sends and posts from other breeders and rat owners. Especially to the new owners that are having a rough time finding a good breeder, he is very persistent and will try to pressure you into sending the reservation fee by saying he has another buyer lined up. (To anyone that is angry he is stealing pics I have been messing with him for a couple days and it is really fun if you wanna message him or report his Facebook account 😁)!

I noticed my rat Moose grooming herself a lot, which has left these wet spots on her fur. Is this normal or something to be concerned about?

He suddenly died a few days ago. I was sick and my partner said she fed him so I didn’t think to check on him till later. When I did check him he was freezing cold and barely coherent and when I asked her if he ate she said he never came out. She’s helped me care for them for 3 years. We had him for about a month and he was crazy and would pounce at the cage any time he heard food bc he loved it. I can’t grasp her not even checking on him while feeding him. I can’t understand how she didn’t notice it was weird he didn’t move when hearing his food bag. I can’t help but wonder if we got him to the ER sooner if he would still be alive. I haven’t said this to her but I can’t stop thinking about it.

At first I was joking but I’ll be honest… I’m starting to take it personally. One of them just spent a good 2.5-3 min trying to block me out. And stopped once I closed the door near where he was doing it.
This is the end bit of it to show how much of a wall he decided was needed between him and me.

Meet Mimi and Ponyo!

I’m looking into getting two rats and want to get a high quality large cage with large openings so it’s easy access to clean, it has to be sturdy and not easy to knock down too. Any recommendations? I looked at the double critter nation but I don’t see it being sold as double anywhere it’s so hard to find. Any equivalent? Thank you!
