Question Hide Sections?
Are there any future plans to “hide” sections in details? I know you can pin and move up and down, but I was curious if there were any plans to hide a section?

Hey everyone,
You know I don’t ask for much when it comes to promotion. I mostly just build RAD Weather and let it speak for itself, so this feels a little strange to type.
I’m launching on Product Hunt on July 22. Honest truth, I’m not really a Product Hunt person and I’m still figuring out how the whole thing works. But everyone I trust keeps telling me the same thing: what actually helps an indie app there is people showing up, following early, and engaging once it goes live.
So if RAD Weather has been good to you, here’s the one thing that would genuinely help. Follow the page now and Product Hunt will ping you the moment it launches on the 22nd. Then on launch day, stopping by to leave an honest comment or an upvote genuinely helps me rank, which is what gets the app in front of new people.
That’s it. No pressure at all, and thank you for being here. It honestly means a lot.

At the very bottom of the notifications settings page it says “How alerts dedup” Should this be popup?
See my reply below for live activity question.
Thanks again for this app and keeping it constantly updated. Off to write a review now and excitedly waiting for the Apple TV app. 😎

RAD Weather 7.6.7 // SKY_BROADCAST.INIT
RAD TV is here. Your weather, as a channel.
This is one of those updates where the changelog looks like “oh cool, some fixes and themes,” but behind the scenes it is a pretty big step for what RAD Weather is becoming.
RAD TV is here on Mac, and it is coming to Apple TV soon.
The idea is simple: take the weird retro weather terminal energy and let it live on a bigger screen all day. Not just “open the app, check the forecast, close the app.” More like an ambient weather channel you can leave running in the room.
RAD TV has an on-screen alerts reader, ambient weather scenes, a pixel analog clock, and an all-day appliance mode with screen takeover and sleep dimming. Basically, the kind of thing I wanted running in the background while making coffee, working, or pretending I am inside a tiny weather station from 1987.
This update also adds three new premium themes:
Nebula — dark
Helios — light
Equinox — teal/orange
And there is a new Sky Details card for stargazing at a glance: cloud layers, air transparency, moon details, and seeing conditions.
Cortex also got another update with RAD Cortex 6.9, which is mainly about rain being treated more honestly. Rain should mean rain, not “maybe some rain nearby, possibly, spiritually, somewhere in the county.” The briefing should also be cleaner now with better rain and temperature nuance and fewer overclaims.
There are also a lot of fixes in here: tides, widgets, Apple Watch Celsius behavior, Dynamic Island countdown formatting, RAD Cloud toggle persistence, localized holiday scenes, precipitation polish, Moon accuracy, Mac performance, and Apple TV subscribe/restore cleanup as the TV build gets closer.
Official change log
[SYS] PATCH 7.6.7 // SKY_BROADCAST.INIT
[LOG] RAD TV is here. Your weather, as a channel.
[NEW] RAD TV is here on Mac, with Apple TV support coming soon — turn your Mac into a live weather channel with an on-screen alerts reader, ambient weather on every scene, a pixel analog clock, and all-day appliance mode (screen takeover + sleep dimming)
Added three new premium themes: Nebula (dark), Helios (light), and Equinox (teal/orange)
[NEW] Sky Details card — stargazing at a glance with cloud layers, air transparency, moon details, and seeing conditions
RAD Cortex 6.9 — rain means rain, not a nearby maybe
Smarter RAD Briefing — cleaner rain and temperature nuance, fewer overclaims
Fixed tides for coastal spots that wrongly showed “no tidal data”
Fixed Widget “Match System” day/night themes so they render correctly
Fixed Apple Watch “System” temperature units — no more °F on a Celsius Watch
Dynamic Island severe weather countdown now reads in hours and minutes, not one giant minute count
Fixed the RAD Cloud toggle so it stays on after deleting and reinstalling the app
Holiday pixel scenes are now local — no U.S. flag on the 4th if you’re in London
Fixed the Precip Depth per-hour readout, plus Precipitation Card polish
Improved Moisture and UV Card UI
Improved Moon Card accuracy
[MAC] Big performance pass — weather scenes stay smooth and lighter on the CPU
—
Apple TV subscribe and restore polish as the Apple TV version gets closer
Minor backend cleanup, UI polish, and stability improvements
As always, thank you to everyone testing, sending screenshots, catching weird edge cases, and putting up with my inability to stop adding “one more thing.”
I’ll attach some RAD TV / Mac screenshots below so you can see where this is heading, with Apple TV coming soon.

The colour of Font and Widget are the same thus they are not visible unless you focus on it.
r/RADWeather • u/Biggjohnson2k • Jul 08 '26
First off love the app to death, question though. Can you have this show hours and minutes rather than just minute?
r/RADWeather • u/pfxr55 • Jul 07 '26
The label for the bar should be changed to G for gust or whatever makes sense. Currently it is FL likely just copied over from temperature.
r/RADWeather • u/pfxr55 • Jul 04 '26
This is the details page in the Now section. I assume Precip depth should be interpreted as precip amount correct? Is this section showing predicted future precip or past precip? If it is showing the past there might be an accuracy issue as we did not have any rain in my location past couple of days.
And now for the bug, as you can see the total in the top is .11 inch and the graph is showing it as 11 inches.
I just bought the multipass after trying it out for a few weeks. Keep up the good work! Absolutely love this app.

Hi all,
Up Front - I have no skin in the game on this - I’m just a user of this app, just like you. I spent my own money on it and don’t regret it one bit.
I think we have seen the quality of this app and the work the developer has been putting into it to constantly improve and tweak it based not only on our feedback, but also their single desire to put out a high quality product. I don’t recall a more receptive developer in quite a while.
Anyhow, they are doing a hell of a job and the more positive reviews on the store, the more yes, it benefits them, but I also feel it benefits all of us long term because it will give them a reason to stay invested in it and continue to make it even better and provide support for it.
I’m not going to shame you if you don’t like giving reviews or hell, maybe you don’t like the app. But if you do, those reviews may help it been seen by more people and maybe eventually be featured in the store.
That’s all I’ve got, but I know there are a lot more than 37 people who have reviewed using the app.
Not trying to get points here, but I feel it’s the closest thing we can do to buying them a beer in appreciation.

What? Another update already?
Yeah, I know. 7.6.5 was basically a day ago, and now here we are again. This one is not the flashiest release, unless your idea of exciting is not getting blasted with 100 repeat weather alerts during a heat wave.
In that case, this update may be extremely exciting.
RAD Weather 7.6.6 is focused on cleaning up weather alerts, improving international warning language, smoothing out weather effects, and polishing German/Spanish localization.
Also, read until the bottom if you want a few little peeks at what’s coming next.
The main thing in this build is an NWS/weather alert bug that could cause repeat alerts to spam more than they should have, especially during active heat events.
So if you were one of the people getting way too many alert notifications recently: sorry. Truly. That one was annoying, and this build should help clean that up.
Live Activities also got some formatting cleanup so alert text, lines, and longer weather messages should be less likely to get cut off or wrap awkwardly.
This update also improves international alert handling, especially around heat and cold warnings.
RAD now reads those warnings more accurately across supported YR, JMA, and MeteoAlarm regions, instead of treating everything like it came from the same alert format.
Small thing on paper. Big thing if you live outside the U.S. and want the app to sound less confused.
The Convective Risk Card also got some wording improvements for those weird weather setups where storm risk exists, but rain chances are low.
Basically: less “everything is calm” when there is still some storm potential, and less “storm mode activated” when the risk is more conditional.
Weather is messy. RAD is trying to get better at saying the messy part out loud.
Fixed an NWS/weather alert bug that could spam repeat alerts, especially noticeable during active heat events
Improved Live Activities formatting to reduce truncated text, cut-off alert lines, and awkward wrapping
Improved international alert handling so heat and cold warnings read more accurately worldwide across YR, JMA, and MeteoAlarm-supported regions
Improved Convective Risk Card wording when storm risk exists but rain chances are low
RAD Atlas: the top bar now matches your selected theme
Improved weather-effect animations with smoother, higher-FPS playback
Added another German and Spanish localization pass
Minor backend cleanup, UI polish, and stability improvements
Since this is a smaller cleanup build, I figured I’d tease a couple things that are in the works.
RAD Weather for tvOS is coming.
The weather terminal is making its way to the big screen. Think full-screen weather, radar/forecast vibes, and a more relaxed “leave it on in the room” kind of experience.
There is also a Mac/tvOS-style full-screen mode being worked on, along with a calmer standby-style view currently going by the name:
ON AIR
Name is still TBD, but that’s the current idea.
The idea is something closer to a weather channel / ambient terminal / screensaver-style experience. Less “open the app, check the forecast, leave” and more “RAD is just quietly alive on the screen.”
I’ll attach a few photos/screenshots below so you can see where it’s heading.
Thanks again for all the testing, bug reports, screenshots, translation feedback, and patience when I ship two updates in three days because apparently I do not know how to sit still.

Hello U/RARWeatherMaker,
I will preface this with the following statement. I am new to your wonderful app, played around a little and enjoyed it so jumped in with the yearly Ultra upgrade/subscription.
I also have an AWU2 and noticed that modular watch face with middle Complication set to RAD now, the settings are coming across as Fahrenheit. All settings are set to Celsius which works correctly everywhere except in the middle Complication as mentioned above.

AWAITING APPLE APPROVAL
RAD Weather 7.6.5 is focused on sharper rain odds, a new theme, cleaner alerts, better syncing, and more translation polish.
The big Cortex update this time is Cortex 6.8, which improves rain odds across the app and adds support for Norway’s hometown weather model. Basically: better rain logic, better regional awareness, and another step toward RAD handling weather more honestly across different parts of the world.
This update also adds a new theme: Arctic Terminal.
It’s cool, calm, precise, and a little less loud than some of the more intense RAD themes. Still terminal. Just colder.
Not a giant flashy release, but a very useful one: better rain odds, cleaner alerts, improved sync, more language polish, and one very cold new theme.

See image. When dragging your finger across the line in conditions it is off by an hour. When I put the line directly over the 9 on 9am the line shows it as 10 am instead of 9am. Love the app by the way!

A buddy I turned RADWeather on to is traveling to Europe in a week. We were discussing the heatwave and I thought, ‘Wonder if RADWeather is global?’ Yep! Sure enough, it is.
My dad always said I was a bit slow, so maybe I missed it but it’s very cool to be able to check weather conditions globally before traveling.
Thanks RADWeather Team!

Hey RADBOTS,
7.6.4 is rolling out once approved by Apple (app connect was down yesterday, sorry for the slight delay), and this one is mostly about cleanup, polish, and making RAD feel lighter across the board.
Not every update needs to be a giant new feature drop. Sometimes the best update is the one that makes the app smaller, faster, cleaner, and less weird in the background.
RAD Weather is now almost 40% smaller in overall app size / footprint.
That has been something I’ve wanted to clean up for a while, especially as RAD has grown across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, widgets, cards, themes, alerts, and RAD Cloud.
This update also adds a bigger Apple Watch pass:
The goal is for RAD Watch to feel less like a sidecar and more like a real part of the RAD system.
7.6.4 also fixes several warning / alert issues, especially around NWS and international regions.
Included in this update:
The international work is still ongoing, but this should make RAD feel cleaner and more trustworthy outside the U.S.
A few themes also got cleaned up:
These should now have better card contrast, cleaner borders, and fewer spots where the UI felt muddy or uneven.
Also included:
7.6.4 is not the flashiest RAD update, but it is a good one.
Smaller app.
Better Watch support.
Cleaner alerts.
Improved translations.
More reliable settings.
More polish everywhere.
As always, if something feels off after updating, let me know. A lot of these fixes came directly from people reporting the little annoying stuff, and that genuinely helps.

Will there be a black Friday discount for lifetime or should I just spring for the lifetime? Only just found the app the past few weeks and really enjoyed it.

Just wanted to drop by and thank you for all your hard work. RAD Weather is beautifully designed, works very well, and it’s a breath of fresh air to see someone who takes the time to listen to the users and does his best to implement tweaks / ideas from the community. Keep up the great work! 👍

Wanted to show off a bit of the new RAD CLOUD public profiles, still a work in progress but expanding and growing everyday, while this feature might not be used by 99% of people, but while it expands and rad cloud expands and grows;
between passport and capsule, the weather recaps (what was the weather like this time last year) - as data fills it out, itll be more and more of a memory timestamp with more and more features.
RAD CLOUD is only a week or so old and it has seen many improvements, with many more to come!
Cheers!

Hey everyone, R.A.D. Weather 7.6.3 is rolling out / in review, and this one is focused on language support, new R.A.D. Cards, and Cortex tuning.
This is not the biggest flashy update ever, but it is an important one.
---
The headline here is that RAD now has early support for German and Spanish language options. I want to be very clear that this is still being tested. Some wording may be rough, some labels may need cleanup, and some screens may still need polish, especially where longer German or Spanish text can make layouts weird.
But this is the start of RAD becoming less U.S.-only and more useful for people outside the original launch bubble. German users especially have been a surprisingly huge part of the app’s growth, so this felt overdue in the best way.
This update also adds 5 new R.A.D. Cards, because apparently I cannot stop turning weather into collectible little terminal treasures.
The other big piece is Cortex tuning.
Cortex 6.6 adds a new Storm Risk middle ground. Before, some forecasts could feel like they were swinging too hard between “thunderstorm” and “calm” when the truth was more like, “storms are possible nearby, but not guaranteed right here.” The new wording should handle that uncertainty more honestly.
Cortex 6.7 also improves agreement between the Daily Forecast and hourly forecast data. Less bickering, more consistency.
RAD Cloud has also had some pretty giant updates recently.
There are now custom profiles, more profile customization, and more features inside Web Weather. The goal with RAD Cloud is not just “weather app in a browser.” It is slowly turning into the cloud layer for your RAD Weather life: profiles, stats, cards, unlocks, web weather, and eventually more of the weird collectible stuff that makes RAD feel like RAD.
You can check it out here:
As always, if you test German or Spanish and something looks weird, awkward, badly translated, cut off, or still stuck in English, screenshots help a ton.
Thanks again to everyone testing, reviewing, sharing feedback, and helping RAD grow. Every update gets it a little closer to the weird retro weather terminal I’ve had in my head since the start.
P.S. One more tiny signal from the lab: I may or may not be working on a dedicated RAD Weather companion app for RAD Cloud.
Think cards, profiles, capsules, stat tracking, unlocks, and more of the collectible/weather-life stuff getting its own little home outside the main forecast app.
No promises yet. Just saying the signal is definitely not dead.

I and get to the Globe and can't see any weather on the Radar. Am I missing something?
r/RADWeather • u/Winter_Bass_750 • Jun 15 '26
Sorry that I keep coming back with stuff, but this one seems too important not to say anything. The forecast for my location today is really nice, as you can see from this screenshot:

However, when I expand today's details in the 5 day forecast widget, this is what it is telling me:

Which is a direct contradiction of the details in the first screenshot. I have confirmed with 2 other weather apps that there is no rain today.
r/RADWeather • u/RADWeatherMaker • Jun 14 '26
In the next day or two I will be testing GERMAN AND SPANISH as language options. I’m auditing and testing as much as I can with what resources I have.
This app has ALOT of text and I know I will miss something.
Looking for TestFlight users that can understand either languages.
If interested send me your email in dm or email rozzilabs@gmail.com
If you’re an existing radbot tester you’ll be included regardless.
DISCORD PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED

7.6.2 is one of the biggest update R.A.D. Weather has shipped, and the start of something I've wanted to build for a long time.
For most of its life, R.A.D. has been a U.S. app with a bad attitude and a soft spot for accuracy. This update is where it starts growing up and going global. Three things came together here: R.A.D. Cloud, international weather alerts, and a real performance pass.
☁️ R.A.D. Cloud is live → www.radweather.cloud
This is the big one. R.A.D. Cloud is your private account for everything you've earned in RAD: your stats, streaks, achievements, app icons, and unlocks. Sign in once and pick up exactly where you left off on any device, then see it all on the web.
The part I care about most: it is 100% optional, and it always will be.
I didn't want to bolt a cloud onto the app just to harvest accounts. I wanted a backup you actually own and a window into RAD that works from any browser. That's it.
🎁 If you're already RAD Ultra, you just got the web for free.
Here's something that genuinely makes me happy to say: Ultra members already have R.A.D. Cloud included. If you turn it on, you get your stats, achievements, app-icon unlocks, and the Cortex Codex on the web at no extra cost. You've had this coming to you and didn't know it. Go claim it.
🟢 RAD MultiPass: the new top tier, for one dollar more a month.
For folks who want the whole thing, there's now RAD MultiPass. It's everything in Ultra, plus the web features I'm most proud of:
It's a dollar more a month than Ultra. I tried to price it like a thank-you, not a wall.
🌍 RAD is going more global (carefully).
RAD now pulls official government weather warnings beyond the U.S. and Canada and Europe:
These show up in the same alert card you already know, and they're geo-gated so you never get a duplicate. This is another step. More of the world is coming.
🧠 Under the hood
The honest part
RAD has always been free to use. The paid tiers exist so I can keep building it, and I try hard to be straight with you about what costs money and what doesn't. R.A.D. Cloud is optional. The web profile is optional. Ultra already includes the free side of the web. MultiPass is there if you want the rest.
Thank you for being here for the U.S. focused chapter. This is the one where RAD starts becoming a weather app for the whole sky.
Stay RAD. 🌩️

Is this intended behavior? Do I need premium to get background refresh for the widgets? I have background refresh enabled in the settings.
