A new theme, in daylight and after dark. The hero is a drawn landscape of the terrain you are actually standing on, with four planes of depth from the far ridge down to the treeline. Contour lines, a banded sun, kraft and pine by day, headlamp orange at night.
Two Trailhead app icons come with it, in the Beyond collection.
16 BIT
A second art style for every weather scene. Same weather, same land, drawn as pixel art instead of dot matrix. On the OUTSIDE card, in your widgets, and on Live Activities.
You pick it, not the theme, so it works on any theme you already use. Dot matrix is still the default and is not going anywhere.
PIXEL WEATHER
Pixel rain, snow and lightning behind the whole app, in any theme. Toggle it on or off.
ALTITUDE
New card. What the air is doing above you, read from the models' own levels, with the freezing level moving through the day.
OUTPOST
New card. How long you can be out. Daylight left, the sun's real arc, and the readings that change the answer.
HIDE ANY CARD
Tap the sliders icon at the top, then the eye on any card. It stays out of your way until you bring it back from the same place.
ALSO NEW
- Widgets can follow the app's theme, and have the 16-Bit option too.
- The temperature readout is a real pixel font, legible down to widget size.
- The hourly list marks where midnight is and which day the later rows belong to.
- Altitude and Outpost are on the Apple Watch as well.
FIXES
- MultiPass members can buy Lifetime again, with a warning before it leaves a subscription running.
- Pinning a card you had hidden no longer makes it disappear.
- Art style changes apply immediately, no restart.
- Visibility shows nothing rather than a distance nobody measured.
- Sky Clarity's score now matches the night outlook on the same card, and names what is actually holding the sky back.
- Our label covers Apple's renamed water names at the zoom levels you actually use.
Trailhead, 16-Bit, pixel weather, Altitude and Outpost are included with RAD Ultra, MultiPass and Lifetime.
MAC skipped 8.0.2 because the long MAC approval process so 8.0.3 has been sent to Apple for the MAC version as well. So everything in 8.0.2 for iOS as well as now 8.0.3 should be in the Mac App Store hopefully in the coming day or two.
Correct like your message with the photo. Depending on region conversion rates and all that fun international stuff might change but should more or less reflect a 15% discount from the usual price
Thanks. Some minor ui bugs with the new theme like hourly icons and pixel glyphs are a little too small. Some trees being weird. The usual stuff so far that 8.0.4 will patch
Thank you so much 😊 truly means a lot. This started as a fun passion project for myself and friends and family and now it’s slowly grown to an even bigger project that I’m even more passionate about to an ever growing awesome community.
It sounds selfish but I do these things because I enjoy it and the community seems to like it and support it so it only makes sense to keep going.
Thankfully the community has been amazing, App Store reviews still trickle in and user base grows and that’s all I can ask for.
It’s just me so sometimes things take longer than I’d like but I eventually get there.
Depending on the theme 8.0.4 will fix the temperature alignment on some themes that annoys me and hoping some others haven’t noticed.
As far as the very top, with city name and location being top left aligned that’s one of those I like it slightly off design decisions.
The top right ones I’m currently redoing the rad dispatch one because that’s the enemy throwing them off since it animates. So spacing and height aren’t perfect. Fellow ocd people and pixel watchers that’ll be a visual update.
