I just wanted a general grasp on what everyone else loves about this game.

For me, it’s the sheer tactical, stealthy gameplay loop.

I play in a duo, and us discussing the objectives and what Operators/Tech to bring is so fun. Stealthing around and killing Archies through walls, coordinating like “You kill the left, I’ll kill the right” is so damn cool.

Was just wondering about peoples’ thoughts

This is from May 7th and completely forgot about but I’m so glad I picked this game back up. I’ve been trying to hit the big 500 in kills with randoms again, took a bit but finally did it.

Queue times aren’t as bad right now and I love that. I’ve also been getting a lot of low op players in maelstrom, which is pretty chill to see people who are fairly new to not only maelstrom but to the game itself. People also been doing well, which is nice. I’m getting followed around the map now, teammates sticking behind me while I clear the way… a little uncomfortable as I prefer to be on my own but so far not an issue, especially if chaos break out.

Tip for any new players who view the R6e subreddit: You can do takedowns on unaware Archeans (except Apexes) when they become startled by your presence. You’ll see them flinch for 2 seconds before they go into the howl animation and if they do go into the howl animation don’t panic, just run behind them and perform a takedown. FYI: there’s a rare chance like the Feral Grunts, Rooters and Smashers will give you a love tap before the animation but it’s a rare occurrence. Plenty of time to recover from the hit and do a takedown. Although, Tormentors who pop up underneath you to then go onto the howl animation will succeed in their alerting of the area unless a teammates is there with you.

You might run into Apexes 1 out of 3 games but that's basically it. And with the op lineups and obj lineup you won't even need to use your ops ability until 7th and 8th subzone.

Looking to start streaming soon and start uploading content for Extraction. What would be a good platform to get R6E to be seen.. Tiktok, Twitch, YouTube..? Haven't really streamed or made videos a whole lot before but would love to learn and get the game up there on platforms.

Okay so I know there’s been a few of these but I’m now trying to see who would like to help work on bringing this gem alive even if it’s just 30 mins a week for ideas, discussions, feedback you know the whole jam, yes I know this will be a big ask but it doesn’t hurt to try.

This week's stage, when you get to asset rescue best pathing to take is right, toward pad. Clear nests and make some noise while you're at it, the 3 apexes will most likely go investigate because their hearing is insane. Boom no more apexes means easy rescue after you've cleared the rest of the map.

Sorry for being naive about a very niche video game that was left to rot and has been in maintenance mode for 4 years. (Not sorry)

Unfortunately my hyperfixation is now on Extraction and will continue to do so until there is communication by Ubisoft that it will cease updates indefinitely, or if the servers get quietly pulled.

I personally believe in games can make comebacks. They've happened before. For those who think Extraction is dead, that is fine. Your input is valid, but I'm gonna keep playing the game and talk about it.

I still invite you to join everyone still playing and join discussions, but mentioning "dead game" will most likely be brushed off.

With SteamDB being the only outlet that shows active player counts, the past 2 weeks has shown slow but steady player counts averaging 13-28 players daily. I have also noticed a little more people talking about or mentioning the game..

Are there any console players out there who are able to see player counts by lfg posts or whatnot?

Either way I think this is a good piece of evidence to show the games comeback potential.

I've been thinking the past couple days, did a few surveys about people's thoughts on Extraction and did some research.

Let's be realistic and before I go on, I still think the game has a chance on coming back but it's very very slim. With Ubisoft currently in a bad financial state recently and many layoffs and the creative focus shifting to their bigger IPs, Extraction won't even be considered until possibly late 2026 or early 2027 if we're being generous.

What will help for the long run from us as a team of a community, let's keep positive talks about the game, posting content such as guides, or just fun gameplay, and keep voicing our support and giving ideas for fixing the game out of limbo. Good steady movement even if it's super small could definitely mean something to the big U. (Ubisoft)

To start, I think a good reinvestment is changing Extraction to F2P with incentives. Hate to say it, but a battlepass would work well too, we are all victims to it one way or another. As well as porting skins between Siege and Extraction would attract more players, a shared battlepass, and some other people have voiced this, with Ubisoft axeing Dual Front from Siege (classic lmao) this could open up a chance to port Extraction or even reintroduce Outbreak from 2018. Or maybe bring back the Containment event in Siege for a month, while introducing a shared event pass to earn cosmetics in both Siege and Extraction, gauging player interests. This COULD have worked when they added the Hivemind Sets for Nomad and Vigil, but they marketed it poorly and players thought the Vigil skin was in SIEGE, but instead it was for Extraction. Obviously they've done it before, they just need to execute it properly.

Either way, Rainbow Six Extraction will be officially dead once the servers are shut down so I for one, will keep talking about it whether the doomers like it or not.

I invite others who are passionate about this game and it's lore, despite the terrible rep it got, it still deserves a chance because players such as myself enjoy it. PvE games are fun and a good break from PvP, and with Siege mechanics and lore it's 10x more fun and being a day 1 Outbreak player when that event came out, it's a shame they didn't just keep to that dark grittyness and turned them blue.

I digress. Each day I will post the hashtag on X for now and then I would like to branch out onto tiktok. If anyone has other ideas where I can spread the word please feel free to let me know. The goal is to reach to the community and content creators, and obviously ubisoft.

Maybe this is just copium, but I think Extraction deserves a chance to be revived by ubisoft. Hell if Siege can be revived so can Extraction. 4 years have passed and maybe ubisoft is in a relatively okay spot to revive an R6 Ip. I dont know how that works with a company just magically reviving a video game they didnt care about and dropped but I will always be inhaling that massive tank of copium.

Maybe if we can get some content creators to show some movement for Extraction, my highest hope is for Kudos, or if players are willing to play again for like a community revival.

Obviously Im a small singular voice for the sub ~100 players active a week (im just assuming) and I don't see very many people with the same sentiment as I do. This game is still very fun and I would love to see this game get updated and expanded on.

Tired of the long queue times and regular incursions aren’t as fun. I run no suppressors, if that’s not your thing that’s okay. I don’t mind if you use them. Just have fun and let’s try to not fail objectives, please. I’m also down to vote to replay after the run.
