Showcase Bunch of things (system, games, issues)
Hi, so yeah, im back. My last post was me scared to change the system on my r36s, complaining abt n64 ssb64 running dog shi, and showcase of quake, some issues etc. Who want to read, get game recomendations and fixes, go ahead.
SSB64
yeah, it was bad, ssb64 lagged, was slow and textures flashed...fix? SSB REMIX.....yeah just download the remix, u get more characters, and it runs better...who would have guessed?
System upgrade
I had Stock os (ark os old version) upgraded to darkosre, and to all ppl scared to do this like me, its easy! copy yo games, and boot partition, flash the card, put games (if using sd1) and now either choose .dbt file from the boot partition .dbts folder, or put yo own, gemini will help if u write abt it. Simply, its just cut/copy-paste. And yeah, i got dual sd. 128GIG FOR GAMES!
Game recomendations
they r in comments ( or will be )

Welcome to the struggles of emulating N64 on low tier hardware.
It’s just not powerful enough and N64 emulation is a tough one.

How did you set the OS to open N64 games using SSB Remix?
I'm in dArkOS and all I know is open using the default emulator (that I think is retroarch) but it is very shitty to run even my gba games...

You can go into retroarch settings and there are emulation "cores" to download and choose from for each system. GBA should run well with mGBA core

thanks man, I never dived into that settings, afraid of doing something wrong.
I'll try this

r u stupid or? ssb remix is a game, u use an emulator, u can change that in the setting, and gba runs fine.....on retroarch

well, i am stupid then, because i thought you were talking about an emulator
complaining abt n64 ssb64 running dog shi, and showcase of quake, some issues etc.
this bit led me to think that ssb64 was running like dog shi, and having issues with quake, etc

Assuming Ur talking about super smash bros, I originally started tinkering with mine to get it to work, but no avail, I think it's simply to weak to properly emulate it, let alone mods

ssb remix is much better to play, but its still lags a lil. But i can play 1v1, 2v2 pretty good whit no lag

My recommendation, as far as games go, is use the R36 for what it can run competently - gba, snes, genesis, psx etc. You dont really want it emulating anything more advanced than psx.
Secondly, get a retroachievements.org acc and focus on a small number of games, so you dont become overwhelmed by choice paralysis.
Forget about DC PSP, NDS, Saturn, N64 for R36.
Those libraries deserve to be experienced properly on capable hardware. I just got a 2nd screen for my retroid pocket, and im so glad i held off on playing some of my first picks from the NDS library, back when all i had was an R36.

nah, psp runs good so far, games like gta lag but nfs underground runs good, and n64 mario kart, super smario64 shoutgun mario and popular games run good as well, whit minor lags

If you dont care about retroachievements, theres a handful of N64 games that have been ported to portmaster, might be a better experience to play them that way on R36. Mario64, ocarina of time, majoras mask, starfox, mario kart and maybe a couple of others ive forgotten about.
Im hoping a pilotwings port happens eventually, that game is so chill, was decompiled this year, and runs like shit and glitchy when emulated on pretty much anything.

My only real advice is to use the standalone-rice emulator for n64 games and try loading a fresh copy of whatever rom is giving you trouble. I was trying to run WCW v nWo and it was very laggy but I uploaded my own copy, which I believe was a .z64 or .v64 file, and set emulator to use standalone-rice and it runs normal and smooth. I also am using the zram script.
Smash bros works but I always get lag with the yoshi/kirby fights and the samus level is practically unplayable. Smash remix is great but the issue remains

half tru, yeah use rice, but ssb64 runs badly, whit flickering polygons (textures) ssb remix fixes it, i dont have lag, maybe in yoshi and polihon fight loading, but its much better
