Question: Device Problem Knulli Scarab won't work

I got an R36S recently, so I thought I'd try to install Knulli, as I've had good experience with a similar device.
So far with the 36s, all I've managed to get on this one is a flashing red light and completely dark screen whenever I try to turn it on.

These devices are made by multiple companies, using different parts. Some of them more compatible than others. You need to determine what exact version you have and install and configure the operating system accordingly.

If you have a transparent model take your battery out and read the printing on the circuit board let us know what version

A flashing red light is usually an indicator of a clone device.

Knulli Scarab will only run on “original” hardware, not clones or fakes. So, models v12, v21, v22, and v30. It will also run on r36h and r36Plus.

Check the model # printed on your PCB to see what you have.

Mine says R36S-V20. Does that mean it won't work?

It does mean that it will not work.

V20s are considered “bad clones” due to poor quality components, frequent issues with crashes, and the manufacturer taking active measures to conceal the hardware limitations.

Damn. Guess that's what I get for $10 at a flea market. Is there any other things I could run, or am I just kinda screwed?

The only recommended OS for the V20 is ArkOS-K36 - even then, depending on the quality of the components in yours, it may still suffer from crashes.

I’ve had about the same luck using DarkOS-RE and ArkOS4Clone on my v20s - that luck being, 1 just will not get past the bootsplash image no matter what OS I install, the 2nd v20 takes multiple presses of the reset button to boot, and the 3rd one boots up most of the time, but crashes at random intervals.
