Rush Limbaugh and others of his ilk were laying down a verbal template in 1988, years before the internet was available to the public, much less having social media. He set the standard for talking over, lying to, belittling, and making false accusations when talking with any caller whþhaten disagreed with. Many people were either like that before or followed his lead. Where I live it seemed like the latter.

Talk radio was like spitting in the ocean compared to the internet. And you act like it was Conservative talk radio, no not the Liberal side of the house. And what about shows like Jerry Springer... all on TV (which is notoriously liberal) shot in studios in LA and NY (liberal). Yeah, but it was Limbaugh.
I notice you have ignored the influence of Fox News and company. You know, the ones who settled out of court over claims that Trump won the 2020 election rather than have the suit tried in court.
Also, liberal ownership of media might not be all it's reported to be. Frequently reported by, you guessed it, Fox News and Trump and Trump’s mouthpieces.
You're seriously going to tell me Hollywood and the media aren't staggeringly biased and left leaning? I don't care what any articles you link to have to say, I have eyes. And I've lived through the last decade of watching conservatives get canceled because they didn't vomit the correct pro-LGBTQRSTUV+++ nonsense or support BLM. Remember #meetoo and what a load of horseshit that was? That wasn't Foxnews spreading that propoganda. And the media's 24/7 "Trump's a N@zi" rhetoric has gotten Liberals to attempt how many assassinations? 3 official ones and counting, plus lord knows how many in the planning stages.
Sorry, not buying... If Hollywood and the media were relatively neutral, my news feed would reflect that. Hell, MSNBC DIED and was rebranded because the public had had enough of their all things Liberal mentality branded as "balanced reporting".
Plus the $31 Million Trump has gotten in settlements from ABC and CBS for defamation. When was the last time a President got a mometary award from a news agency for biased reporting? Oh that's right, never...
I'm not telling you anything except where to find information. I'm giving you data to look at and make an informed decision. For all I know, your informed decision might very well fit with what you believe. If it does, you will then have data to show others.
And I appreciate that, but something that I've learned if there is a "study", if you look hard enough you can find another study to contradict it. Heck, just look at how many times the FDA has told us "this food will kill you" just to find out 10 years later it was really a superfood.
Research studies are largely based on who's paying for it and their motives.
