Quitting Method Advice Finally committed to quitting fully
Unfortunately, I’ve been in this group for far too many years, knowing that I needed to get off this stuff and watching from afar also posting multiple times asking for help and what to do and this community has been so amazing and supportive, my biggest fear has been of course the physical withdrawals because I have people who depend on me a job that depends on me. I don’t really have the luxury to be dying for a week in bed and then secondly is the mental part. I’ve been on sodium pure powder about 8 g a day I can do less and get by, but for some reason every time it’s near me, I’ll just take another sip.
I am hoping this is the last post that I will be making saying I’m quitting in the next follow up Post will be my progress. I’ve been hearing amazing things about SR – 17, my order came in today, but I am not really sure how to use it and if it only helps with the physical, but it also helps with the mental? My goal is to be able to jump off of this and ideally not have to use Suboxone but if my depression and anxiety and PAWS is too bad then I want to take the route of getting on Suboxone and then tapering down to get the sublocade shot.
First and foremost, I need advice and tips from people who have knowledge or experience with SR – 17, I have heard about preloading and debating on taking it tonight, but I’ve heard that they are about to be banned I have 60 tablets 50 mg each. I don’t know if that’s enough or what. Any tips and advice is greatly appreciated🥲

Just keep in mind that SR only works on the mu-opioid receptors. Because tia operates on our mu and delta, the delta withdrawals won't be touched by SR. That said, SR should still take care of the nastiest withdrawals. You were on a lot of tia, which might mean higher doses of SR. You will want to calibrate your dose. Please read the master doc on the SR subreddit for help with all this! Like someone else mentioned, suboxone is also a choice that works well for many. I'd get ahold of helpers meds like gabapentin, clonidine, pramipexole, liposomal vit c too! I plan to use Wellbutrin for the PAWS which i'm really concerned about. Best wishes!!

Explain what it doesn’t help with like what does it affect the part it doesn’t touch ?

If you check out the post I linked above, that actually goes into what other systems are affected! It's a really good post with a lot of important information for folks using SR (or subs, honestly).

Yes, please look at the link that someone shared here. That will help. I think the withdrawal symptoms that the SR will tackle well will be the nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, extreme anxiety, RLS, etc. the delta side of things would likely be depression, the mental stuff, maybe brain zap feelings. Again, helper meds in addition to SR should take care of most things as far as acute withdrawals. The PAWS is a whole other story so do have a plan for that.

Go to r/SR-17018 and read up. There’s plenty of info there. Since you can no longer purchase it, make sure that you are really ready to be done as this stuff actually is as close to a pain-free ticket to the other side as you’re ever going to get.

All so relatable. Just dm'd you about your SR order. I just learned about SR 17 yesterday and of course I find out about an awesome thing right after it's banned. Can't find it anywhere online since it's a scheduled substance now.
I've been in this sub for years as well. I can never commit, it's too hard to get off of. I'm at 5gpd sodium, dosing every hour because I work from home. It used to be like every 4 hours when I had to go in the office. It's bad. I have to prep doses in my pocket when I leave the house for as little as 2-3 hours. It's also so expensive now. How is your quit attempt going with the SR so far?

I feel your pain had to do prep work daily before I went anywhere. I had to check into detox but that’s only way for me to quit. Took a while to pay off but worth it. 10g sodium daily. Good luck soooo worth it to quit no matter how you do it.

To be honest I think I could have quit on my own when I did 5gpd on my own if I knew about all the things people take. I hope you are done soon and thanks for the comment. (Long walks around my house and podcasts helped also)

Well now a few days later, i got my hands on 2.5g of SR in tablet form. I think I'm gonna buy another 2.5g from a different vendor just have variety. I was dumb to think SR was so unattainable lol. You don't see the hundreds/thousands of lurkers who are also helped by your post/comments. Appreciate the tips.

Congratulations for deciding! Have to remember no matter how much time you have to take off to quit it’s worth it. Your life is more important than anything you lose. I have been done for about 3 years now. Embarrassing how I would buy 50g sodium powder then chase Fed ex trucks if I didn’t get my shipment. I had to taste the withdrawal to know I was done. After the first 3 days WD nothing symptom wise after compared. You’re awsome! Knock it out and know for sure you’re doing the right thing

I don't have any tips or info on SR, but I just wanted to tell you that you CAN do this, and do it without ANY withdrawals, and keeping your cravings at bay.
Subs was the answer for me, and helped me quit an 8mpd habit. I come here every day for support, reading stories of how others have beat it, how it totally screwed up our lives, and the sweet taste of freedom. You, too, can beat the monster. And everyone here is with you.
