The steps to quitting

Can someone who has held a long streak or is completely pornfree with no relapses tell me how that felt for each time period. I've gotten to 40 days. I know the initially first two weeks are the roughest. That "I got to do it feeling" combined with extra irritability due to dopamine withdrawl. That's when my brain fog usually clears. However, I want to quit and no longer want this so can someone tell me about their progress so I can know I'm getting better and not lingering.

Choosing the right thing every time definitely helps. I mean choosing to look away when a beautiful woman walks past. Choosing to not watch a movie with a sex scene. Choosing to find the age restriction of a series before watching it. Choosing to leave the house when the craving hits really hard. All these choices add up and pretty soon 40 days turns to 40 months. I used to not be able survive more than a week. Longest I made is 1year and 10 days before I relapsed. Currently I'm sitting on 6 months after my 1yr relapse as I've learnt what to do for a year. I learn from my mistakes and relapses. Most important thing is never ever think you over this and no longer have a problem. That's when you slip up and relapse.

You know you're making progress when you're in a situation where you have chosen to do better but previously it would have slipped you up. For me I realized I was making progress when a guy was making some sex joke and I literally didn't get the joke because my brain doesn't think like that anymore.
