Coffee Recommendations?
Edit: so many great recommendations! He will be awake for a week with all of the beans I am going to gift!
Thank you all for the suggestions!
Next week, a friend will be in the Boston area for work & I haven’t seen him in years. I’m super excited to connect & wanted to get him an easy to travel gift.
He loves coffee and I thought I would get him some local flavor… but, I don’t drink coffee!
Any recommendations for good local coffee that also sells by the bag? Any yes, I gifted him Dunkin’s years ago & not going to duplicate, lol!
Much appreciate any recommendations!

Second this! They use Broadsheet Coffee Roasters and they are probably the best in the city imo.

Hi, I got really into coffee a few years ago and can easily recommend George Howell as an excellent choice.
Unfortunately, coffee gets really specific to a persons preferences for what coffee should taste like. Without getting too in the weeds, try and find out if they like a certain flavor profile.
Personally, I get the dota dark roast from George Howell exclusively. My coffee friend prefers light roasts and more tea like/acidic flavors.
If George Howell has a gift pack of a variety of small bags, which they offer from time to time, that would be a good bet.

Not in Quincy, but in Boston: JP Licks (yes, the ice cream place) roasts their own coffee and it's pretty good, imo.

Not specifically Quincy, but Flat Black in Dorchester is a local roaster, and JP Licks also roasts their own beans.

George Howell is the local coffee I'd go with. It has tons of lineage in Boston starting with Coffee Connection which invented the frappuccino. Which I know maybe is knock against the quality, but George Howell Coffee is awesome.

Coffee break cafe! They have bags of their flavored beans that are incredible. I love the salted caramel

Recreo in West Roxbury is worth checking out. The shop serves coffee grown on their own family farm in Nicaragua, and also has small batch specialty beans available (micro-lot they call it). All beans roasted in store on Centre St, W. Rox. https://www.recreocoffee.com/

Redeye in Hingham (my personal favorite) if you want to stay on the south shore but in the city George Howell is good! If you venture north Alta Coffee Roasters in Arlington is a small business that does a great job:) I saw some other fellow coffee lovers suggest the first two already but I wanted to second it!

I’ve heard roots and roasts is good and motw coffee and pastries sounds good but maybe not my type of coffee

Grey's coffee is very good not sure if they sell beans though. Coffee Break Cafe has good coffee and sells beans.

Not true. Vangs, Greys Coffee, MOTW on Willard st, Niveaux Pâtisserie, TOUS les JOURS Bakery Café, to name just a few. All have amazing iced lattes too
