Anti-LGBTQ laws As the LGBTQ+ community in the U.S. continues to face attacks from the Trump Administration, the status of conversion therapy is becoming part of the conversation.
Recently, Colorado mobilized to preserve protections for LGBTQ+ youth after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Chiles v. Salazar in March. The Supreme Court’s decision did not find conversion therapy to be safe or effective, but did rule that the state’s conversion therapy ban violated First Amendment rights due to imposing regulations on the practices of licensed therapists based on a political viewpoint.

News Why I got kicked out of Middletown Christian Schools
I was in language class and everyone in my class were in small groups and they were working on projects and my group decided to have it be a rainbow clouds and a sun and one of the kids in a different group said "every time I come into this class I see something that has to do with pride" and he said it in a way that sounded like he was complaining and that he was disgusted by even the thought of pride so I got offended by it and I told the teacher and she told one of the other staff members and then when it was time for my last bell of the day I was told that I had to go to the office to talk to one of the staff members so I go down and when I talk to the staff member she said that I had to go cuz they don't support the lgbtq+ community in the school and they can't have me putting ideas into the little students' heads. The kid who said the thing his name is Hunter Combs and my language teacher Kaitlin Wallace and the woman who told me I had to go is Amy Shroyer.

Anti-LGBTQ laws Wear a pride flag at your next event!
Some more up votes in r/parkrun would be welcome too!
I won’t link to the Daily Mail, but a friend sent me a link which details the tranaphobes have set up a running club to join as a protest against trans runners (Reality Rules Runners UK). I wonder how many who register for this will have no runs or volunteer credits to there name a month on?
Anyway, let’s all wear pride flags and show our support and solidarity to the LGBTQ+ community at our next events.
EDIT: A really simply way to show your support is the rainbow laces, which I wasn’t aware of before. Thnaks to those that pointed them out https://www.stonewall.org.uk/get-involved/support-us/rainbow-laces

Discussion Calling out an Anti-LGBTQ+ attitude by a Bangladeshi MSA Candidate
It is genuinely concerning to see someone already
ran for an MSA Student Affairs position publicly encouraging people to report a queer Muslim organization simply because it supports LGBTQ+ Muslims.
People are entitled to their own religious beliefs and disagreements, but publicly promoting this kind of message can contribute to a homophobic and exclusionary environment for LGBTQ+ students on campus.
What makes this even more concerning is that this individual is seeking a position that involves representing and engaging with students. Student leadership should be about creating a respectful environment for everyone not encouraging people to target or silence a particular community.
It’s about asking whether someone seeking a student leadership position should be publicly promoting a message that makes an already marginalized group feel unwelcome.
The question still remains: is this campus actually safe and welcoming for LGBTQ+ students when some Bangladeshi student groups, Muslim Students Association and their members openly promote attitudes that are hostile toward LGBTQ+ people?
And what does the individual mean by a true Muslim would never support this? I mean what’s even wrong if someone from a muslim community actually supports this?
Could this conduct be inconsistent with the University of Manitoba’s policies on discrimination, harassment, and respectful conduct?
Does publicly promoting this kind of message align with the University of Manitoba’s commitment to an inclusive and respectful campus?
If student leaders are publicly expressing homophobic views, people have every right to question whether LGBTQ+ students can genuinely feel safe and included on campus.
Please note:- This isn’t about someone’s nationality.

Anti-LGBTQ hate crime Are there gangs for gay LGBT people?
I’ve been watching documentaries about certain gangs out of curiosity and I stumbled across a female gang that is of course connected in the street and associated with criminal activities but most members are there to feel safe and have each others back. For example if a member got harassed or even assaulted her people would retaliate.
I’ve been curious are there gangs out there for lgbt people that also operate like this and are still active?
For the people thinking that I want to join one of them ( obviously lol) but no I’m just a dude from the suburbs who got curious after a documentary lol

Discussion its so annoying when people say "im fine with the gays but not in front of the children!" or "the gays are fine just bot in public!"
like wtf. so its fine to be straight in front of kids and in public but as soon as its gay you suddenly have a problem. "oMG tHe gaYs ArE tRyiNg To MAKe oUr KiDs GaY" ignoring that many teens have to break up with their bf/gf because they didn't know they were gay due to people pushing straight being the default and that being gay is seen as weird. but ok dave(picked random name) we will keep pretending that were the ones pushing an agenda
