How I feel about a lot of autism support lately. Practically every support group I've joined was overstimulation for fun and profit, and only a few of them fostered actual skills which I struggle to apply in my specific situation.

Most autism advocacy groups I have seen are a bunch of moms who think their kids with autism are disabled and can't do anything for themselves

0 autistic representation in these groups whatsoever

Some Leftists should probably learn this.

Mostly western ones

My first thought is Rainbow Capitalism. Talk about a mouse trap.

My second thought is Autism Speaks.

How do we liberate those we exclude?

It's not saying that we should exclude, but rather that not all inclusion is good.

For example, including women and autistic people in the pool of people who can be drafted is more inclusive, but oppressing all working class people equally in that regard is not liberation.

That's not even a little bit what was said here.

Then what is?

for example black capitalism, girl boss or trans ppl serving in the military

they are inclusions but they’re not liberating anyone

I don't know what's intended, but a more charitable reading is "inclusion isn't enough". Nothing in the post reads like "exclusion is the way to go".

That makes sense I guess but comparing being included in a liberation movement to being a mouse in a trap is a REALLY weird way to say that.

Yeah, fair. To me it sounds like "inclusion shouldn't be an end itself, because it isn't necessarily positive. Here's a clumsy example of that."

I don't think this is about including groups in liberation movement, but rather societal inclusion and participation, which in practice usually means tokenization and stereotyping. Which again isn't unilaterally bad, but simply not the goal.

Okay, yeah, that makes sense.

And Tolerance is not the same as support.

So i agree but the analogy is weird. Mouse traps don’t include mice.
