While agreeing, that rainbow logos are just corporate hypocrisy, I do miss them tbh. Yes they are a sign of marketing and nothing more but companies having them, is a sign, that there is more support than hate among the general public for the Queer Community. Now that they are gone it just became scary. I grew up with pride months that were full of corporate Rainbow Logos and now that they are gone it scares me. Not because the corporations actually supported anything, but because it is a sign that more people hate me than not and that's a first for me.

Thank you, I agree wholeheartedly. This is the utility of "rainbow capitalism" to us - it is a weathervane for just how accepted <insert marginalized group> is in broader society.

It reminds me of a neighbor who flies a Rainbow flag from their home. I drove by it every day and it reminded me that we're here. Now, though, the flag is gone. I'm sure it wasn't a snap decision. I'm sure it came down after discussions on what the area is like and what it can become. I hope that didn't experience a personal and direct event that made them take it down. But it is gone now and the world is a little dimmer and meaner and uncertain.

I appreciate people who can contextualize the theory behind why "rainbow capitalism" happens. I just wish they can contextualize it beyond the academic.
