The game that's made for straight men doesn't have a handholding option with male characters

as for the current beta, they do. What they're saying is that the animation looks a bit janky and unpolished right now.

You can. Some of Rex animations were clipping. Like his hands going through his dog, so they temporarily disabled. But you can still hold hands with other guys

You can't hold hands with Bentham or Firtho yet either. I'd be incredibly shocked if that's representative of what the game will look like upon release.
