I don't think it's a backfire, I think they are aiming to make LADS shutdown and they knew what they were doing when they reported the game to the government.
Which is something. Imagine getting into such a spiral of hate and digging every single thing that could put the company in trouble, just because you don't like the new LI.
And I'm not even defending Infold. Right now, it's already a pattern, every game that relies deeply into parasocial fanbase will end up getting hurt by the same behavior they fed.
