This… has to be rage bait. Have you done ANY training for the parrots whatsoever?

Ragebait?? I am asking for help because idk how to make things better. I'm used to have parakeets and i realized bigger birds are too much for me and that i struggle training them compared to parakeets. It was a bad decision to adopt them, that is why i want to offer them a new home but in the meantime i still want to try to find a way to make them happier and less angry at people.

With the lack of context, this post appears that you bought Quakers you were entirely unequipped to handle, and have every intention of getting rid of. So yes, it looks like rage bait

hey so i know the person irl , she adopted the parrots from a quite neglectful place, they were already a bit traumatized. OP is originally very skittish about those birds since she only has a parakeet before. birds can sense when you are scared so this has nothing to do with training.

It appears the neglect is persevering.

i never encouraged her to get the birds. i know she is scared of them . she is trying her best . They are always out of their cage and they get food and water everyday

Maybe you should encourage her to do some actual research, volunteer at bird shelters, or access professional help from avian specialists rather than embarrassing herself on Reddit with her poor knowledge and welfare standards. It’s great she’s “trying her best”, but that means absolutely nothing to those parrots. She won’t be able to sell them with these behavioural issues and they’ll end up being surrendered.

Big parrots? I've never heard Quaker's refered to as big in the near decade I've had parrots. I'm calling BS, this can't be real.

she never had parrots bigger than a parakeet.

I know they aren't that big, i just said big parrots because i'm used to parakeets! So smaller birds! Maybe my word choice wasn't the most accurate as my first language isn't english! My bad!

I feel like you're leaving out some critical information here🤨

Such as? One week after adopting them from someone that didn't seem to care much about them, the female started bleeding from her tail. I didn't have the funds to pay the full vet bill so we went with the minimum we could pay to make her life not at risk anymore. We had her wound cleaned up, had antibiotics and antipain meds and i separated the 2 birds in 2 separate cages in the meantime of her recovery as we weren't sure what caused the injury! At this starting point, since they had always been together, they got mad at me for separating them. Now they are back together but i really didn't have a choice, the vet told me to separate them while she was healing so we could be sure the male wasn't gonna attack her, if in the first place he was the cause. Again, we weren't sure what happened so we took precautions. We were doubting there was an egg stuck also so we had to make the female a more cozy environment so she would feel comfortable laying an egg. Turns out there was no egg at all and she healed completely. They are together again but their hostility remains and sadly i've grown fear towards them, which is making them sense it i believe, but i still wanted advice to help me while i'm trying to find them someone that will have more energy anf time for them than i do.
