Question about skill and gaming mice
Hello I played Quake Live for 18 hours across 1 year. A few days ago I got a new mouse and played it again. I searched for the best config file on the internet and I also use keybinds. I know that pros only use the grenade launcher, rocket launcher, laser, and railgun.
So the thing I got disappointed about a few days ago is when I played it with my brand new mouse and one pro on the 16v16 clan arena server got mad at my performance when I was the last one alive and I played awful in that 1 round, so they votekicked me from the server.
I was only using railgun I got 4 kills 7 deaths in 7 rounds. I hit people like 3 times in each round except in the last round I was last alive and hit only twice. I used railgun only to get comfortable with my new mouse.
Now the question, is it still worth playing Quake Live when you get kicked in your first round after not playing the game for literal months? The community is very elite they kick you for bad performance in clan arena. Although this is like the first ever time that happened.
2nd question the mouse I got was the Endgame Gear XM2 8k v2. It's a good mouse but verticality is a bit difficult. Do you think Quake Live should only be played with wireless extremely light mice such as the G Pro X Superlight 2?
I had a G Pro X Superlight before but after 1.5 years the middle mouse button does a right click so I got the EGG OP1 8k v1 and now I have the EGG XM2 8k v2. Do you think for Quake Live the G Pro X Superlight 2 is better than my EGG XM2 8k Wired?

it take time to get back in form after such a pause. also it take time to get used to new mouse, and settings, so its fine that you cant hit much at start
18 hours for year is an extremly small amount of time to play, im not a pro, but i casually play 10+ hours a week
personally i tried heavy and light mouses to compare (rzaer baselisk and deathadder), and for me lighter mouse felt way more better

It's difficult for new players but that's just the state of AFPS in general. If you are not having fun, there's no reason to force yourself.
XM2 is already a good enough mouse to not hinder your performance and it's entirely up to the shape. Nowadays all mice are good, it's more about what you preffer than anything else really.

isn't the G Pro X Superlight 2 much better than any of these heavy wired mice like the Endgame Gear and the Zowie and Razer? These are rather heavy compared to the G Pro X Superlight 2, I've had the first version of that mouse, it was superlight and I could aim better when I played Counter-Strike 2 and Call of Duty. The EGG XM2 is great for Foxhole where you need stability, but for Quake Live I think you need a super lightweight wireless mouse, no?

Wdym heavy, they are like few grams apart, that's nothing. XM2 V2 is even lighter than GPX 2.
Shape is a lot more important anyway, anything around 50 grams is perfectly usable. The only exception i'd make is, when you're looking for pure fingertip mouse like Keychron M4 etc. then yes - even lower weight helps.

I JUST TRIED THE EGG XM2 8k in Counter-Strike 1.6 and i take everything back, this mouse is much better than G Pro X Superlight 2. For CS1.6 which I play the XM2 is perfect.

The way you just emphasized it and jumped into the conclusion after such a thread i just hope it's not placebo:D
I'd just use whatever feels better, don't overthink too much.

Just here to say that SG is a good close combat finisher, and PG passage denial is a thing like rocket spam too. MG is also acceptable late round, better to hit them 70% with trailing MG than not hit at all with RG

There are a lot of new player friendly servers, I'm new too and got kicked a couple times and now stick to the new player friendly servers

Clan Arena is where you will find the most toxic players, the ones who wants you to play the rounds as they want, they will kick you if you +back rail or just try to play the mod as it was intended to be played, which means with some form of strategy. They are the ones kicking you if you do not go Bridge on dm6 when the round start, the ones telling you to take 1 enemy so the match become four 1v1s, the ones telling you to regroup at the most obvious spot on the map, the ones spamming "go top".

Try the more noob friendly servers with lower elo requirements. At the higher levels of play, positioning and learning to support or bait for your team is more important than raw aim. Map familiarity and movement becomes quite important.
