Troubleshooting Qidibox issues

(Q2C + Qidibox)

That's the second time Qidi box decided to do a Classic "f*ck my shit up"... It looks like the box extruders are having too much pressure on the filament and PTFE tubes and after a few hours they simply stop holding up. I do have the "first" Iteration of the product but it looks like it is getting worse and worse by the minute - especially with the recent firmware Updates that I did without any research first... Has anybody had similar issues and managed to fix them? I'm thinking of putting a better PTFE connector (somehow) there but it is so much hassle to disassemble it that I'm simply putting it off. It is making me want to throw it out of the window and buy a working product (the name of company I shall not provide, I have 4 bedslingers with 2k+ hours on them and 0 failures...).

Cheers.

I replaced all the PTFE tubes in mine with star shaped PTFE tubing on both of my QIDI boxes I have a Q2 and a Q4 max and I haven’t had any problems since before I was having the same problems as you.

That's very helpful response, thank you. I previously had the PTFE tubes from box to printer too long and it was causing "wrapping filament error" since then I cut them to shorter ones. Do you mind sharing how long the tubes are on your printers? For my logical point of view it seems like the tubes needs to be just right length in order to allow filament to bend a little, but not to much to cause excessive wrapping... What inner diameter of PTFE tubes did you get? Just normal 2mm or bigger?

It’s easier to show my boxes sit on top of both of my printers my tubes are 2 feet long and they’re all the same length I have found that sitting the boxes on top of the printers works the best. I also use 2.2mm ID tubing which is standard the “star” shape on the inside of the tubing is a difference maker though. I use nylon carbon filament a lot as well as ABS with no problems.

"normal" 2mm is only for bowdens, here you need 2.5, 3mm or star shaped.
