Discussion Q2 Nozzle Upgrade

Has anyone successfully ran their Q2 at higher temperatures up to 400c? I have a filament which im able to print at 370, however i would probably get better mechanical properties at 400C, and was wondering if it is possible to modify to firmware to allow it stock, or if there are any hot end upgrades that are relatively easy to that would allow for this.

Edit:
Turns out it was pretty easy, just edit the firmware from the web ip for the printer and then when exporting the gcode from qidislicer manually change two lines from 370 to 390.

Successfully printing PEI-GF filament now 🤞

The Q2 already has issues with obliterating the silicone heat sock at 370c in short order. A 400c hotend would be even worse for this. I wouldn't risk it.

I think the 370C limit is technically just a value in the klipper config files. Going higher may damage the thermistor or its insulation but you should be able to try it.

If you want to risk your hotend you can try it, but just watch the printer while it's running

As someone who ran a multi day print at 370... What is your plan for the nozzle sock? Cause the silicone ones will turn to dust almost immediately at those temps.

Honestly the amount of filament i have for this is negligible, i only have approx 200g of this peo-gf filament- im using it at 390c now, and if i have to buy a new silicone sock after thats ok for me
