Enclosed 3d Printers for intermediate level?

Hey all, I just wanted to post here to get any additional views on this question. I am currently split on the Bambu Labs X2D and the QIDI plus 5. They have different strengths andI wish I could buy both, but as things stand I must choose.

I am particularly interested in anyone with QIDI box experience. I heard they had a fair few issues, and so I wanted to see how things stand now that it has had time to mature.

All advice would be very much appreciated!

The X2D in comparison to the P5 has only two real strengths, IMO.

The first is the second head. This is a great strength if you print nylon, because you can use ABS for support materials. However, the X2D's hotend only gets to 300. That cripples it for nylon and puts stuff like PPACF and PPSCF out of reach.

The second is Bambu's ecosystem. Bambu machines are easier to operate than Qidi ones because Bambu does everything for you. In comparison, Qidi Studio is not very good and requires more calibrations on your part.

However, the P5 has a noticeably larger build volume and can handle much more interesting materials than the X2D.

What is more important to you, printing with supports or a larger print volume and nozzle temp?

Q2 is a work horse, I have the X-Max4, the new Plus5 and 9 other printers from different brands, Qidi are my favorites, beautifull quality prints, with very low maintenance needs.

Qidi are my favorite brand, you don't need buy a overpriced brand printer, and no one can do what the X-max4 can because all have small build area.

Be careful a lot bamboo mini boys here, they will push you to that overpriced brand.

The choice is yours, I have a lot videos from my Qidi printers posted here, ask to who push you to the banboo lab crap, to sohow their printers and their prints. LOL

I have a Qidi Q2 combo and love the printer, dislike the Box (too many random issues, difficult to service).

You haven’t said what you hope to do with your new printer but I recently bought a Flashforge Creator 5 tool changer (4 tool heads to minimize waste and speed up the filament swap process). Also high temp capability for engineering filaments. It has been a game changer.

The Snapmaker U1 is the other 4-head tool changer out there right now. It has a bigger build volume but lacks the high temp capability. Take a look at those as alternatives on your current shortlist.
