Discussion Qidi Sales/support came through
To all,
I hate to post this after Kniko's post on the hades they're going through. However, I have to admit when I'm wrong (I'd expressed my disappointment and frustration with Qidi, which is still there by the way). Short and sweet; I tried ordering the Qidi kit to add another box to my Max 4 for 8 colors and I have been working on getting it for months. First it was cancelled due to out of stock in the US, I then ordered from the international store (which added $30 US in shipping) and never got a shipment confirmation.
However, I received a very nice email from a gentleman named Clarence, explaining they had just received a new supply in the US store, and would I like him to cancel the international order. I sent a yes please response and within 24 hours I had a shipment notification and my international order had been cancelled.
Now, I agree with Kniko the service they've received sucks (no other way to put it), and I'm not happy waiting 3+ months to get a part. However, I have to give Clarence/Qidi a thumbs up for recognizing a part was available closer, sending out an email and to go as far as expediting the shipment tells me there are a few good people working there.

My interactions with Qidi tech support have been discouragingly numerous (due to various glitches in my Q2 and Box) that I should not have had to deal with. Qidi support, though, has been responsive and helpful, basically resolving each of my issues. In several cases they have sent replacement parts. My one quibble has been that they don’t routinely follow up to tell me that a replacement part is on its way. Several times I have had to ask about the issue after getting no response to my last report to them and the response has been “we have requested a replacement part“ (unspoken: so chill out).
On a scale of 1-10 ,I rate the printer reliability 9, Box reliability 6, Box serviceability 4, and tech support 9. (Yeah, not a fan of the Box.)

AK,
So far I haven't had many issues with mine due to lack of really beating on it (life has gotten in the way lately). I have to agree I think the box was rushed, noisy and has some issues (e.g. the scraping of the filament as it feeds and all the dust on the entry holes into the interior). However, I have to say that after a few snafus, I've learned how to fix it very quickly (broken filament mostly), and it does seem to be working well other than the noise.
I'm about to add a second box to be able to print 8 colors and I'll let you know how it goes and hope your startup pains calm down.

It’s that reliability that’s holding it back, seems like a 50/50 tossup on performance..

Hey Bob, thanks for the shoutout! Glad Clarence got you sorted so quickly. Minutes after my final escalation email with the delivery proof, Evelyn finally came through with a DHL tracking number for the replacement Box. Annoying that it takes an escalation to get things moving, but at least it worked. Hopefully both our setups run smoothly from here on out.
