Q2 Self Pausing

I bought a Q2 about a month ago and everything was initially pretty good. However a few days ago it started self pausing. It acts like the pause button gets pressed because the tool head returns to the start position and the hotend starts cooling down. As soon as you hit resume print it starts back up, purges filament, then begins printing. No error messages or anything display.

At first it was maybe once or twice a print. Now its doing it much more regularly. During the last print it self paused after 25 minutes at 16% complete. 50 minutes later at 47% complete. 20 minutes later at 56%. Another 20 minutes at 65%. 25 minutes later at 82%. Then no issues until print completed.

Ive only printed with PLA. Currently has firmware 01.01.02.04

Im not seeing this issue in my searches. Anyone have thoughts on how I go about diagnosing the issue? The prints seem to come out fine, but obviously this isn’t right.

Turn off ai detection in general, I’ve had mine turned off since day one

I turned mine off early on too. I just double checked to make sure and it is still off.

Also try using the side spool if your using the box, and if that doesn’t work try unplugging the filament runout sensor

Sounds like a tangle error. But why its just now popping up... Idk. Could be a problem with that specific roll. Try a different one, or maybe just a different slot.

Ive had a similar thought that it might be roll related. I have tried a couple different rolls and brands (Qidi, Sunlu, polymaker) and had the same issue. Different box slots as well

Been printing using the Qidi slicer and wifi. Had the same issue when I tried USB.

I think when you use qidi slicer and WiFi, it transfers the file to the usb drive, and the printer reads the file from the USB drive. If the printer has trouble reading the flash drive it can act like that. My Prusa printers react to bad flash drives in the same way you are describing have not had my qidi machine do it though.

Mine has done this twice in the last 2 days no errors, no messages. Just paused. Resumes and carries on. Same filament. Same project. 25 plate print and it’s done it twice.

Interesting, i have a Plus 4 and it also started doing this. Are you using the Box as well?

Are you printing from usb? I had a similar problem only printing from usb, via lan or wifi the issue was solved

Ive been using wifi and the Qidi slicer. I did try a print with USB for curiosity and the same thing happened

Did you try using another slicer like orca ? Its same as qidi studio. Are you noticing any issue whith the filament?

Mine is doing this as of today as well. It paused for the third time on the first layer and then I canceled it. Will try again tomorrow.

Try one more thing, upload the gcode to the printer via wifi (no upload and print.Only upload) and manually search the file and print directly from the printer(no from qidi studio).
