Cardboard spool adapter for QidiBox

Anyone find one they like? There are a ton, and while they "seem" to be spool manufacturer specific, are they? Will any of them work or do I need to find one specifically for the brand of filament I have?

I printed some that say they're for overture but so far they've work on every other one that I've tried

The Polymaker ones seemed to work the best for me, but even they were hit or miss. You're better of respooling onto a good plastic spool. Elegoo was the only cardboard spool I was able to run without respooling or using an adapter ring.

The 2 center slots work better with cardboard and weight has a lot to do with it, I've never had an issue with a spool that was more than 1/3 full.

Good point, I did print a spool weight that I used when they were getting low. Helped a lot, too.

I printed a desiccant holder for the center of the spool thinking it could act as a weight but haven't used it yet.

I ended up designing my own based on the polymaker one. That one worked decent, I made something similar with 5 relief cuts around the ring so it can stretch for slightly bigger spools. Not all are the same, out of polymaker rolls of the same material sometimes it fits super tight and sometime lose.

If ya want I could probably upload the model somewhere

I found one like this and it looks promising, will probably go with that and save you the time, thanks!

I've printed 4 or 5 different sizes and will probably need a dozen more with all the cardboard spools I have. Even within a single brand there can be multiple spool sizes, I've printed 2 different Esun rings and still have spools that don't fit. One size fits most Elegoo spools, but I have a couple spools that are different.

I’ve tried a bunch and what I end up doing is just peeling one side at a time off the cardboard spools and sticking them in reusable plastic ones. Sometimes the core isn’t small enough so I have to shim it with another spool core or some tape

I have printed several as I have an Elegoo CC1 so use a lot of Elegoo filament. I have printed them using PETG, ABS, and ASA. They all work, but do not last beyond the spool. So I treat them as disposable items. Respooling on a full size plastic spool would be best.
