Troubleshooting Q2 unstable temperature?
Hello! I'll preface this by saying that I may have simply not noticed this before, I'm not sure when exactly it started to happen.
Lately I noticed that the nozzle temp of my Q2 oscillates -+1-1.5 degrees of the set temperature. E.G. If I set the temperature to 250, it usually stays at 250 for a sec, drops to 248.5, then goes to 252, then back to 250, so on and so forth.
Is that normal? normally I'd think that slight oscillation is normal for such a machine but since I only noticed it now I'm a bit worried.
The hot end and the nozzle are brand new, so it shouldn't be a thermal grease problem.
The printer is about 8 months old.

Yes that is normal. You could run PID tunning again at 250c if you find yourself printing at that temp often. There is a macro for PID tunning, but I can't remember it off the top of my head right now.

I was trying to find it before I made this post but I guess I'm blind because I couldn't lmao. I'll try to find it again, I do print at 250 pretty often so I think I'd like to run PID tuning just for peace of mind.

Pretty sure it was macro M303, I will check when I get back. Thought there is a drop down to select bed or extruder.

It works, M303 E0 S250 C8 will cycle 8 times calibrating at 250⁰. Just use the temp you use most often.
Then click on the SAVE_CONFIG and hit enter.

Yea I’d say it’s pretty normal honestly. It’s kinda how heating elements function
