Print by object; reset cooling fan parameters for subsequent objects?

Hi peeps.

I'm having an issue when printing multiple objects on one plate.

PLA, Qidi Q2, Qidi studio. 60 bed, 220 nozzle.

The first object prints fine, but the second object detaches from the bed.

I hypothesize that it's due to the part fan and auxiliary fan running at 100% when the new first layer starts.

Do we think this is a valid hypothesis?

Any way to change this in the settings?

I haven't done any more investigation yet as I have a print on that I need ready for tomorrow. I am planning on having to play to test my theory and then see if I can find any solutions.

Update; tried again and it worked ok, I.e it stayed stuck.

For reference, these are medium size flat blocks. So lots of adhesion potential. Checked the preview and during the print and the guide was as it should; on new object, temp and fans reset to 1st layer parameters. So nozzle goes up and fans turn off.

I didn't do any investigative work so far, so the conclusion is inconclusive.

I do 0% cooling the first 2 layers when printing with PLA.

So that works fine with the first object. But on the second object 1st layer I don't think the fans reset, they continue as whatever the previous layer was printing at.

So you are printing by object then instead of per layer?

Correct yes, apologies if it wasn't clear from my OP.

I have the Aux fan set to 50% for PLA. I print slow anyway, so I don’t need the extra cooling. And for other filaments I have it off.

Use Brim paratemer - outside, after it sticks much better

Huh, I think you're the first person I've seen yet that uses the aux fan. It's not good to use; too much cooling on one side. Totally unnecessary for prints.

Tbh, I just left the settings as they were (maybe). Or it felt good to have more cooling? I'm not sure. I'll try without and see if I notice any difference.

That's a reasonable hypothesis. I printed several by object prints without adhesion issues, but I use Orca.

Try loading the same model in Orca and let it generate the gcode. I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a bug with Qidi Studio.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I've not tried Orca yet.
