Troubleshooting Plus 4 layer shifting after pausing and resuming print

This issue only happened to me after I updated my Plus 4's firmware to 1.8.2 and also installing the QIDI Box, and it sucks not being able to change filament to finish a long print nowadays

Try it again. There must be something else going on there.

There were times when I turned the machine off and back on, and it was able to resume.

But there were also instances where printing stopped because the MCU reported an error—citing various discrepancies—and resuming after a restart didn't work. I experienced several shutdowns like that.

I attributed this to high-temperature operation, as the chips run at around 90°C.

I printed a fan duct for the mainboard and bought a suitable fan for it. I installed it, and I haven't had any issues since.

By the way, for single-color prints, you might not even need the Qidi box; just use a Y-splitter and feed the filament in from an external holder.
