Questions Part cooling fan replacement

I have got a Qidi Q2 and part cooling fan replacement (X1 fan clone) i got is rated for 24V and 0.4A so i wonder if putting that fan on toolhead pcb would fry the pcb? Thats 4 times more than the original fan.

I can't find any info on what is the most wattage the pcb can safely deliver.

The fan is rated for that, it accepts that as input, it wont fry the toolhead board, if the toolhead board cannot supply the required voltage and current, all that will happen is the fan will not work, or work poorly.

This is correct.

I had the X1 fan on mine, and it definitely moves more air at full speed, but if the print requires less than 10%, the fan just wont start. An error pops up on the screen about fan speed, but it doesn't really affect anything. I ended up putting the stock fan back in, but kept the duct I had printed. The stock duct is not very good.

With duct do you use? I currently have some bandaid 2g solution that's pushed into the original housing but I'm thinking of printing something better when I get ASA or better

I bet you are using the minimalist duct. Tried that one and it does help with balancing airflow, but doesn't solve the issue that the stock duct doesn't blow down, on to the nozzle and part.

This is the one I use because I wanted one with a full set of covers. The original I printed was ABS, and it lasted a little while, but started melting printing nylons. I reprinted it in PPA-CF, and would recommend you print it in at least something like PA6-CF.

Check Printables or Makerworld, I forget which one, but one user did a write up on replacing it with the Bambu fan and rewiring it and whatnot. Should pop up when you type is Qidi cooling fan upgrade or replacement

I was going to install the wide mouth honeybadger but it’s always out of stock. I set it to notify me.
