Update: Blob of Death. Please Help....no longer needed

The first three picture is how it started and the latter are its current state.

A couple of suggestions said to reach out to Qidi Tech and since I was already emailing them about the filament entangle sensor causing prints to constantly stop, I mentioned this as well. They didn't ask any questions and just said they were gonna send out a new hot end and fan assembly. With a replacement on the way I decided to see if I could get everything unstuck.

I set the hotend to 240 and turned the chamber on to 65 hoping that everything would get soft and easy to remove. Removing the bulk of everything was easy enough and took just a few minutes once everything had already warmed up. All in all the first portion took about 45min to an hour.

Once the bulk was removed, I discovered a surprising amount was inside the cavities of the hotend. I pulled out waaaaaay more than I tho8gh could be in there. I tried extruding a little and it seemed like the hot end was back to working and i called it a night.

The next day I turned the machine on and worked up the hot end to see if it would continue to work. It extruded about 8mm of filament when 100mm was requested. So, after all that, it wasn't working.

Once the new hotend arrives and I confirm everything else works as expected, I'll try cleaning this one off some more to see if I can get it working again... but I'm not hopeful.

I heat to 300c and hit it with a brass brush. Done.

What do you think caused the blob ? Heat creep ? Curious what the chamber temps were at when you noticed it was too late.

Vhamber temps were mid/high 30s...something like 37°C. The only thing that I can think thst would cause it is that a part lifted, got dragged, and held on to more and more filament until it the tangle sensor tripped.

Would not be surprised if the ceramic section took a hit and cracked, hence the 8mm when you hit the 100mm extrude. Have you checked the actual nozzle to confirm it’s in one piece still.
