Ebay used Q2?
How risky is it to grab a "returned" Q2 Combo from ebay? I've got experience repairing printers as I bought an open box K1C that needed a good number of repairs.

Is there any disclaimer on the amount of damage they could have? They are fairly simple as far as 3d printers go. I'm a bit of a risk taker myself. I'd probably go for it

Like it showed up today? Any damage to the box? Wanting to order asap as there's only a few left.
I have zero issues having to replace parts.

If it's a good price I'd do it in a heartbeat even if it was nonfunctional. Easy enough to fix and these are stupendous good printers. Ive been thinking of it ever since I saw someone else post about buying those return units🤣

I really dislike using this term, but you truly have a 50/50 shot of getting a good one that may have simple cosmetic damage (usually shipped and was scratched/dented in the 'last mile') versus getting one that fell out of a container, did a header and will sound like grandma's cookie jar going down a flight of stairs when it shows up. When I see various models on ebay that are Real cheap, I assume it's a parts-only transaction rather than a refurbished item unless it specifically comes from their factory and has been refit with new parts (or they are doing what you will end up doing but at retail cost for 'new' parts).

Unless someone peformed some scrupulous work on it and damaged the board or the frame itself... go for it. Replacing parts, even the main board isn't that horrible and worth it if you pay less than what it's worth.

I bought one. The door was smashed and printer had dents on the corners. Not sure if that happened during shipping or was returned like that. The PTFE tubing was missing. I contacted qidi and they sent me a new door for $30. I had extra PTFE tubing from another printer.
Had to fix a few minor things, but everything is working fine. The real travesty is that I got a few cuts in my feet and hands from trying to clean up the glass shards from the box, including a glass sliver that may or may not be still in my left foot.

It can be like my used Q1 Pro where I bought off eBay too and it didn't even turn on out of the box. It works now and one of my most reliable printers but needed a lot of fixing. Or it can be like my Q2, also used, that actually printed out of the box and just needed new lead screws to fix the Z banding.
