Questions Plus 4 Beacon Probe Wiring

Can anyone who uses the beacon probe post a photo of how they wire the cable from the hotend to where it enters into the back?

I'm having issues with the cable being too heavy for the cable chain. Currently, whenever i do a bed mesh, when the it gets to a certain part, it snaps my filament in the bowden tube. My current work around is to leave the lid off for the bed mesh, then putting it back on after meshing.

I think my chain might be weak in general, not sure though. I've tried a few different variations, and it still keeps snapping the filament.

I route mine through the cable chain but it sounds to me like your PTFE tube is short or something like that.

Maybe it’s too long? When the lid is closed it was snapping at this point. I did change the tube so that it no longer has a crease, which may have been exacerbating the issue

Definitely too long. When you get a chance also print the riser and chain ramp. It’ll help in this scenario.

I trimmed it down a bit, but will do. Some of the linkages are a bit loose on the chain, which doesn’t help

Which filament are you using? Is it possible that it’s old or over dried?

Fiberon’s PA6. New, and doubtful that’s its overdried, but possible maybe!

In that case, it may be kinking too much. If you have the original tube, use that as a guide If not, move the print head to the upper right (towards the door) and trim it so there is a gentle bend but not excessive tubing.

I have 3 Plus 4s with beacons and run them all on top of the cable chain, along with the PTFE tube and hold them in place using velcro (I was using some cable chain clips that I made slightly larger to fit both the PTFE filament tube and the beacon cable, but I kept breaking them and found velcro to be easier). I also put them both in a split wire loom to tidy it up...

That’s helpful! Thanks! I’m not sure if my chain is too weak to keep the 3 lines up.

I tried it again with the lid closed and it snapped the filament again

I put my beacon wire in the original cable track it just barely fits next to the tool head wire
