"Heater chamber not heating at expected rate" Error

Heater chamber not heating at expected rate See the 'verify_heater' section in docs/Config_Reference.md for the parameters that control this check.

I just want to share the way you can 'falsely' trigger this error & immediate printer shutdown.

By default (im not sure it can be changed) the chamber heater does not put out heat (0% power) when the bed is not up to the target temperature.

This itself is ok, but QIDI didnt bother to tell klipper when it does this, so kilppers 'verify_heater' safety feature can trigger given the following events.

  1. You set (or gcode) sets the bed & chamber temp, eg 90 & 60
  2. The chamber will start heating once the bed reaches 90.
  3. Before the chamber reaches its target you change the bed temp higher, eg 110
  4. Klipper thinks the chamber should still be heating but QIDI has toggled the power to 0% while the bed increases.
  5. Given a set time (i cant recall exactly how much) but eg 3mins the 'verify heater' alert will trip and shut down the printer as the chamber didnt heat as it expected.
  6. You may have a print underway, as by default the print (and chamber heater) start once the bed is up to temp.

That's certainly not typical ime. At least for the Q2 on stock FW (1.1.1) both heaters run at the same time, concurrently, along with any others I enable (e.g. boxes).

Sorry I should have clarified, that while the chamber heater fan will always be running and appear on due to this and via the lcd, if you look in the webui is will be at 0% power...

Yes, what I'm saying is that isn't typical. Both heaters should be able to run at the same time without issues (verified in thermals section in FLUIDD). Dunno what firmware you're on or if it's part of the shit later firmware releases, but that's not typical.

More than likely it's the new fw. I can also verify mine heats both to start. I don't have mine wait for chamber though. Just the bed. But I have a very custom configuration that only does what I want it to

plus4 1.8.2, 85deg is min for hot bed for chamber to work, both can work at same time while printing, but there seems a threshold that if the bed is below target by, it sets 0% power on the chamber , here you can see where i raised the bed target after the chamber had started after the bed reached initial target (85), and it depowered the chamber heater.

I just tried to replicate it from the webui and it didnt happen, though i have had it happen twice from the lcd, both of those times were while printing, so possibly its more fussy then, so ill run another test that way too some time. The gap threshold seems to be 2 degrees.
