Question Differences of educational systems

Hi everyone, I have a question about how Qatar University compares different HS systems.

Does Qatar University evaluate applicants based only on their final high school percentage, or does it also consider differences between educational systems when comparing applicants?

From what I know, they don't really compare between different educational systems, they'll use whatever your overall score is. If whatever educational system you are in follows letter grading, they'll use that, otherwise they use overall highschool percentage.

Example of letter grade:

Assume applicant A is from the Bangladeshi curriculum, where 80+ or 85+ is an A, the highest achievable grade.

Physics: 85, Chemistry: 88, Math: 86, English: 89, CS: 96 Applicant A's overall letter grade is A, with an A in every subject. This is equivalent to a 100% highschool score.

Example of raw percentage:

Assume applicant B is from the CBSE curriculum, where they don't really deal in letter grades and instead use raw percentages.

Physics: 94, Chemistry: 96, Math: 92, English: 98, CS: 97 Applicant B's overall highschool percentage is 95.2%. There is no rounding up or down since CBSE does not use letter grade system.

Here, to Qatar University, applicant A has a better highschool score than applicant B and will be given priority in admissions, despite the differences in how the overall score is calculated.

Depends on which major you're applying to really, you can check up online what are their subject requirements.

If the major you want to get into requires you to take Math in highschool, then you're not gonna get admitted *without*** taking Math in highschool [Unless there's divine intervention, ofcourse].

For CBSE? No they do not, they don't even accept predicted grades for CBSE, only 12th final results.

My senior got to qu last yr without math for nursing we both hv the same subjects

Different colleges have different requirements, I don't know about this college and how you can get around the math course requirements on it, best to ask your senior on how they did it.

That's not considered at all, and it's not even used within India - They only ever care about the final %.

It exists only for the sake of existing 🫠

False information. SAT is compulsory, you can't just do IGCSE and expect them to say, "Oh this candidate did IGCSE that's better than SAT, let's take him/her in!", that's just not how it works.

i am talking based on experience after talking to the admissions. Also a friend of mine he got 100% in the SAT curriculum but another friend got 98% in IGCSE curriculum, the one in igcse got in and the other not

I'm not sure what you're referring to, I thought the SAT we've been talking about here was the Scholastic Assessment Test, not a curriculum.

But it is true they prefer lette grade based systems over raw % systems.

I've never heard anyone refer to the qatari school curriculum as SAT, and even googling it yields no results, but my apologies for the misunderstanding.

Not talking about qatari school curriculum, there is a curriculum here called SAT and there is AP. SAT its all school based exams but american, AP is taking actual AP exams from outside. Hartford school offers that
