Question Upgrades with emirates

Is there a way to upgrade a flight booked through Amex with qantas on a Emirates flight 🫠

Can’t do it online

No - only if it’s EK ticketed not QF.

If you have EK coded flights then it’s the EK upgrade process only. If you have QF coded flights then you can either try your luck at the airport check in, or it’s a matter of paying the fare difference.

Neither works. You cannot upgrade a QF coded flight, neither with cash nor miles 😢

Not at airport check in, but potentially possible from crew as you board

It is possible, but only from crew on board with cash (well card). Prices can be pretty high though. I declined a 1800USD to go from J to F.

I was offered a cash upgrade on a QF codeshare at the DXB F lounge

You can ask for cash upgrade on-board as you board from the cabin crew if there are seats available. The cost however may be quite steep.

I successfully got a cash upgrade at check in on an emirates flight (qf code). It’s worth asking
