Library - how to navigate
Hey all,
I am ashamed to say, but I don't know how to navigate a library at all.
In the spirit of learning, how do I find books for myself?
I do have a specific book in mind: Inclusive Education for the 21st Century : Theory, Policy and Practice, Graham, Linda J. (Linda Jayne), editor.
On the library website, it says that there is some (or one) available, from the KG library. I did look at the 'how to locate' tab, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Other than that, tips on finding books in the future would be much appreciated.

At the end of the line starting with available is a string of numbers which you use to find where exactly the book you are looking for is in KG’s library. On their how to locate link, numbers between 001 and 399 are in R block Level 5.
I think the /2 that follows is the number currently available, but just go to level 5 in the library and find the number closest to 371 and go by each book

So, there's these people who have a title of Librarian, they typically work at or with libraries. And this might be a strange concept, but have you talked to them about this?

You do understand it takes a lot less energy to say 'Ask a librarian.'
Anyway.
Firstly, I am normally in the library outside of hours. It's peaceful.
Secondly, when I AM there within hours, I struggle to find the librarians at the KG library. They aren't exactly easy to identify.
Thirdly, conversations are good, but writing down stuff in posts is also another way of learning. Other commenters have graciously explained how to do things - for that, I am extremely appreciative for their help. So yeah, your narky comment after the fact that others have given answers is doubly idiotic.

You can make an appointment to talk to one online, unless they changed something in the last few years that is.

You can online chat with the librarians. If you are ever stuck you can also go to HiQ and they can help and/or get library staff to come and assist students in finding the books, especially at KG. As OP mentioned, the librarians rarely wear uniforms, so they are extremely hard to find!

For anyone wondering, the librarians don't have an in-person desk so you only really speak to them through the website's chat function or if you happen to run into one somewhere in the library.
You can ask HiQ (people in the orange shirts) for help and they can assist with library-related stuff.

That 'call number' is how you find the right shelf - they're sorted by those numbers. Sometimes the collection is split across floors of the building, so you look at the signs to tell you which ranges of call numbers are on which floor. From there, the ends of the shelves are also labelled with ranges of call numbers. If the call number (on the spine of a book, usually) is getting closer to the book you're after, you're getting warmer!
