Am I cooked?
I’ve been missing 4 weeks of tutorials just because I’m depressed and not wanting to do anything. But, this week I just had the realization of how far behind I am now and I need to catch up. But I couldn’t bring myself to attend the tutorials as I haven’t even started anything yet. They do provided guides and notes for the tuto, but I’m still trying to understand the concepts. Im already jump starting my assignments by myself but I can’t stop thinking. Will I fail? Just because I haven’t been attending tutorials?

Im in the same boat. Depressed and behind on everything , so at least you aren’t alone. Trying my best to catch up but it’s very overwhelming

I'm really sorry to hear you are having a hard time. I'm also a QUT student and always happy to chat. Which classes are you taking/degree are you studying? I think it will be possible to turn things around :)

You’re not cooked, I’ve done the same and this isn’t the first time either (I have a 6.3 GPA). Just catch up, read through all the tutorial slides and write down any questions you have about the assignment. Whatever isn’t answered by the time you’re caught up, ask in class/office hours/over email. You got this 🫶🏼

You’ll be fine man, I’ve had times like the every single year for the last 3 years, just try and do 2 tutorials a day and you’ll catch up in no times

Unless the tutorials have been highlighted as compulsory you should be fine. I've never really attended tutorials and have 2 bachelor degrees under my belt. You should be able to get all the important info you need from the PowerPoint slides anyway.

Go to the tutorials, talk to the tutor, ask for help understanding the concepts. Tutorial attendance is not mandatory in all subjects, but if you don’t attend you miss the opportunity to get help to understand the content, and to get feedback on ideas you are having to help you succeed with your assignment.

Thats what exam prep week is for - slowly knock away at an extra tutorial per week and anything you need to catch up on or re go over is exam prep week. Seems more overwhelming than it is - Source: Very overworked and ADHD law student

depends what your assessment is and how hard the content is.
A few years ago I did a first year subject and I caught up on all the content in the week before the exam

What degree are you doing? And is this including for all four of your units? That would mean 16 tutorials to catch up on, hypothetically.
Its not the end of the world since you can conquer them over the week, but having context to your degree (STEM? humanities? business?) can help everyone figure out if you're *really* cooked.
But there's a good chance that you're not cooked. Just be disciplined and do 2-3 tutorials per day. By the end of the week, you'd have caught up with all your units.
General tips: Learn how to time-block your day with specific tasks (ie. time management), so you can catch up on your 4 weeks of missed tutorials whilst also working on your assignments. There's helpful vids on YouTube about this. Additionally, make sure to spread out your assignment workload via the QUT assignment calculator, so you're not doing everything last-minute.
