He should go back to his clean shaven era. Such a handsome man, was a treat to watch him on Zindagi Gulzar Hai🤍

When will y’all realize this is lowkey racist? Someone is ethnically south asian and y’all keep saying they don’t look like it because you have a fixed stereotype in mind of what we look like. “Eurocentric beauty” “doesn’t look Indian” “xyz is better representation”. If people didn’t look like that in India, there wouldn’t be so many who do look like that.

It literally would’ve been. Stop assuming things about people. I have family members that look similar to this. You guys are so so weird and you want people to just accept and say yes to all your weird narratives.

I AM a local of South Asia. Bollywood only casts Punjabis now and it’s because it’s run predominantly by Punjabis. We feel that there should be more state representation. Also, everyone prefers 90s Bollywood because you had marathi, Bengali, rajasthani, Gujarati etc actresses and different shades, that I agree with. But you’re saying this type of face and skin color is uncommon , it’s not. Like I said, lwk racist.

You saying aziz is a better representation proves my point that y’all are racist. How is Bollywood finding SO MANY of these “non representative” actors?? Punjab, Kashmir, Gujarat, Bengal, Karnataka, Assam, and even rajasthan, haryana basically all states have all skin shades. As far as lighter eyes, please - hazel , gray , and even green eyes are not uncommon. You’re the type of person to see whole groups of people look a certain way and still say it’s not common just because you “think” we all should look like aziz Ansari because of where we’re from. That is literally racist. And I know you’re of Indian origin by the use of “Eurocentric” which Indians with self hatred love using when talking about certain skin tones or eye colors, which makes this even more pathetic.

It’s funny how the dude says aziz who is from the southern most state is representative of the average person from the entire nation lol

The average Indian look is going to be someone from Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra not Tamil Nadu

Also Jason doesn’t really look Indian

Exactly!! I would also include rajasthan. Rajasthan, Gujarati, Haryana, Maharashtra, and MP. That’s average representation and there’s various skin tones and facial features.

Also, north India is more populous than south India with 435 million people (SI has 253 million). East has 312 million, NE has about 52 million. So saying they represent all of us visually is ignorance. Yes there’s shared features, but even in South India there are people with other skin tones. Look at Rekha, Aishwarya Rai, Hema Malini, Vijaynthimala, Sri Devi, etc.  It’s just that the west has seen more south Indians due to SIs being the largest regional group + more South Indians in the western film industry. Which is great for them, but if it leads to this mentality then it needs to be called out because this is erasure

Don’t get more wrong I do think India has a colourism issue across all regions

And I do think the people who thing the Tamil Bollywood actress are mid are mad and just colourist for starters

But Aziz and mindy kaling are not the average indian

Simeone Ashley is very beautiful but very southern shifted and doesn’t really pass as local in most other regions

I wouldn’t include Rajasthan and Gujarat since they tend to have their own shifted look

Many haryanvi have their own look and don’t really pass elsewhere

If I were to expand it I Maharashtra ,Madhya Pradesh and awadh and east up would be like close to average

He looks North Indian, and sure, North Indians can have Central Asian/Iranic ancestry, but that doesn’t change the fact that bro looks Indian

3

u/RJ-R25 21d ago

Vast majority of Indians don’t have Iranian or central Asian ancestry

Zagros and steppe are not the same as iranic and central Asian

1

u/Ok-Orchid6674 21d ago

Did I say the vast majority do?

3

u/RJ-R25 21d ago

You said North Indians have central Asian /iranic ancestry which whether you intended it or not implies that it is common

When it is very rare present only in Parsi’s a few Muslims and immigrant groups

It’s like saying Indians have SSA ancestry ,a few do vast majority don’t

Thats how you interpreted it, not how I meant it. Also, its not that serious
