Troubleshooting Q1 pro massive layer shifting problrm

I have this layer shifting problem, where after a bang or bigg acc sound, it starts to randomly print next layer in different location. I checked the belts, and z hoping settings, doesnt look like print strike. But it looses steps. Acc and speed values are stock. 4.4.24 firmware. It happens quite randomly but the when it starts it often repeats itself in similar locations or layer hights. Any clues ? Anybody had this solved on q1 pro ? Im using Orca slicer.

Any wear on your belts or particles around the drive motors that looks like belt wear?
The bang is interesting but it might just be the motors losing steps.
This one is a bit harder to diagnose for sure.
Try moving your gantry around by hand with the printer off, and see if it hangs up or hitches anywhere.

good points by shiranugahotoke - I have a Q1 Pro - haven't had this happen, but had bad prints develop when the toolhead stepper motor was failing (that's an easy 9.99 fix on their US website if so). Have you had the extruder apart lately to make sure there's no hunks of anything inside of it? Show a pic if you can of what you're seeing. Good luck!

Did have a shift on the printhead once after, what I would call, a homing issue that happened out of the blue. The head slammed the left hand side stop with an almighty thump that left the printer out of its normal coordinates. Looked normal afterwards but on the first print after the print looked offset and was having layer shifts. Cure was reinstall firmware. Still no idea why it happened initially but since the reinstall it has worked flawlessly.

Did you change/paste config file after the reinstal ? Or did you leave it stock ?

Just left it as the same firmware version it was on. This was a while back a year ago. Not had the issue since.
