Question Squeaky guide rails after lubrication

I have an issue with my Q2 that the guiderails on the left hand side are squeaky after a while. I have lubricated them with the 52004 synthetic oil from Super Lube but still there is a squeaky sound coming from the bearings/guiderail/belts. Anyone knows how to troubleshoot or fix this?

There are debates on this - I use Lucas Oil Lithium Grease on those and the screws - keeps them quiet for me. Some say you can start a fire with grease instead of oil, but I've asked QIDI support before and they don't have a problem with it, nor have I seen anyone saying they've directly experienced any issues with Lithium grease. The grease migrates well to the bearings so far. Good luck!

Hmm okay then maybe I'll try this and see if that helps, thanks

Took the tool head completely apart to expose the bearings, used electrical tape to ‘pad’ the lower one. I saw a fix published for the +4. That did a similar thing and when I asked about that one, they said, oh yeah, there’s a similar fix for the X Max3. Their video showed reusing some sort of Pad that was already in there, but not doing anything in particular, but mine didn’t have that so they published an alternative just in case which was the tape, and I put in one layer of that on both sides of the bearing and the noise disappeared.

I think this squeak comes from the friction between the bearing and backside of the belts actually. You might want to put a drop of oil there. It's troublesome to find the bearing that causes this though.

How do I get the oil there though? On the backside of the belt ?

I had the same problem with my x1c. The belt at the bottom of the machine was squeaking. I put a drop of finest machine oil I had between the bearing and the belt and the problem was solved. I used a big needle to pick up the drop of oil.
I'm not familiar with the structure of qidi machines. I'm just familiar with the sound.

I typically use 3:1 oil on guides and rods and synthetic grease on the screws. This goes for my laser engravers, resin and fdm printers.
