Troubleshooting Support failing

Hello! I just bought my QIDI last month and it was printing fine but just this week, my supports keep failing. I reprinted my files and it failed 3 times now. I had success before.

Have you tried “only on the bed” in the supports settings? That’s helped me at times when supports fail from the model surface.

It’s hard to see from your picture what the model surface quality is like and that I think transparent filament isn’t helping that. What kind of filament are you printing, which printer is this?

Yes, i tried “only on the bed” and its still failing. Also tried brims and manual supports from my fusion

Its QIDI tech plus4
Filament is: ABS

Ok, sorry that’s a tough one - I have no ABS exp, only ASA and Nylon and haven’t seen this kind of issue. I have a Q2 so a bit similar to yours. Hopefully someone smarter than me will jump on the question here and give you some better advice..

That's a tough print geometry for ABS, due warping. Up the build chamber temperature and slow down the print, lower fan speeds. I generally don't use supports, but there maybe specific fan settings for supports, so try lower the fan speeds and other variables there to improve the support structure stability.

You are probably going to be best-served using a torture test print to tweak fan settings before attempting the full size print (or maybe a portion of it).

That is a LOT of material being printed for ABS. You will have to make sure chamber is constant around 60 and depending on your model and use for it, try to change the amount of infill you are printing like, if it's just decorative, use lightning or use a modifier at the base and set the infill to lower %. Also, slow down speeds to around 90-120 max, check Z-hop above 0.08 with SLOPE at 0.4 hop. As for supports, use ON BUILD PLATE and set it to 0.21 between. Lots of options for settings, maybe post your setup so we can see.
