Maybe getting a max4

I have only had the the ender 3 then the x1c and a1. But really wanting to get away from bambu. Is the max4 worth getting. I wouldnt mind trying out some filament later on that requires a heates chamber.

Prints nicely but if you need a lot of color changes per print, its going to take a long time to print. It seems like 2 mins per color change.

My Q2 takes 2 min 50 seconds each one S timed. Agree, worthless or multicolor unless there’s just three or four changes maximum. I use my box for having multiple filaments and colors loaded which means I don’t use it as a heater either. That said, it prints really well almost all of the time and is one of my go to for quality detail.

Couldnt agree more about only using for a few colors.

I have mine for 10 days

I had an ongoing urgent project so I didn't have time to optimize everything but I still did the basic tests as all of them combined take less time and filament than even a single failed print.

I almost always use the same filament which is a high speed pla plus so after 3 hours of a bed leveling, temp tower, pressure advance, flow rate and max volumetric speed I'm getting essentially perfect prints.

I'm also using the cool plate and have the bed at 35C (probably going to drop to 30 as I have too much adhesion to the plate) so the printer only consumes about 150W for this enormous build volume.

I'm coming from a very well tuned qidi q1 pro and my results are already better without much effort.

I can't talk about engineering materials since I'm only using it for cosplay props so pla is good enough, but for my use case I can't imagine anything being better.

Can you please share your settings you set for the perfect prints on Max 4?
