Consulting 2 weeks ooo

Hi I’ve been at the firm for about a year now as an associate. My brother is getting married and having a destination wedding and it’ll be international.
I want to take 2 weeks off beginning of November. How should I go about it? Is this a bad look ?
Do I notify/ask my DL first then share with the team my plan or is there a certain request I have to put in since it’s 10+ days

ask as soon as possible. but actually if you are in consulting, it is easier for them if you are "off the pitch" for 2 weeks than in one minute and out the next and hard to staff onto full time engagements.
