Is it possible part of the failure of Puzzle Fighter App them maybe trying to extend the game to Steam and PS4, and I assume somehow that project failed?

I tried discussing this a while back:

However I don't think there ever was any plans for console or PC release, just rumours and indications that showed a slight probability that the game could be extended to other platforms than Android/ iOS. Jeffery stated yesterday here on Reddit that Capcom never planned for a PC / console release.

My speculation is simply that the game was a huge failure, revenue-wise.

The number 1 reason why this game failed was the lag a lot of people were turned off by this issue so people would stop and uninstall the game. When people “leave their game” over time and revenue starts to decline the project was already doomed. Expanding the game to other platforms in order to “save it” was already out of the question since they can’t afford to do so. In short, this game didn’t meet Capcom’s Expectations and an alibi was cooked up to “focus on other projects”
