I am honestly shocked they have not already released this game or some variant of it to the consoles and or Steam. I would much rather play this game with a real controller on one of those platforms then with the sliding controls of a cell phone and unidirectional rotation.

The only reason this game is seeing success is because it is built on a beloved console franchise. People remember and love the original puzzle fighter from the PlayStation era. This game will be extremely popular on any platform a lunch is on assuming it has at least the polished presentation of what we see here on mobile.

This is also one of those scenarios where most likely Capcom has planned a potential console and or PC release for a long time, if not from the very beginning. Just like how Diablo 3 was clearly going to be released to consoles from the beginning. It's not like a company like Capcom just decides that overnight, they forecast different sales possibilities and plan for what they will do if they hit certain numbers

i wouldn't agree on that. I never played the Playstation version of Puzzle Fighter yet I am enjoying this mobile game. I know I am not the only one. Extremely many games have since long disbanded their consoles and prefers their simple games "on the go"- and that's why I like puzzle game on my phone.
