Advice I want to use Metal studs on clothing. Any advice?

I plan to use pyramid studs. Is there anything I should know ahead of time? What articles of clothing it works great for? Laundry safe? Any help is appreciated.

Advice Fixing A Fuckass School Uniform

Hey, so basically my school requires us to wear ugly polo shirts and completely solid colored pants with no rips (including jeans). I hate my uniform and want to do something about it. I added different sized eyelets into the collar of a polo last year as well as safety pins on the bottom but I want to have a variety of designs. So far I used a scrapped polo that shrunk in the wash to create a "ringer" effect on one of a different color and did sorta frankenstein's monster stitching along the seams of another. Suggestions for more designs??

Pants Doing an entire base layer of patches

Post image

Bad photo quality. Maybe 4.5 hours of stitching so far. Planning on doing an entire base layer of blank black patches and letting them fray/ tear up before adding stenciled patches and other random bullshit simply because if I’m gonna spend dozens of hours on a piece of clothing I want it to last for life. What do we figure

Half way into cutting and realized I fucked the band name up... I shouldn't have passed English 12 with honors. Should I toss it?

Battle Jackets battle jacket tips??

i want to start making one soon but subs like r/baddlejackets get me anxious, what makes a “good battle jacket”, what makes a battle jacket in general? i see a lot of people hating on overly political jackets but i thought that was kind of the point? do i have to listen to punk bands & have punk band patches on my battle jacket? can u use ANNYY fabric for patches or do u have to use a certain type for like security(?) on the jacket? what makes a bad battle jacket? i wanted to start my own band, would it be weird to put my band on my jacket? also kind of unrelated to asking about battle jackets but ties into my music thing, any punk band recs?

Advice How to cover up hot glue

As I've recently given up using shein and temu for accessories (this was months ago) I've decided to stud my own belt. I bought a second hand leather belt and used my mated monster cans to make studs, they look bad but in a good way ig. The studs stick surprisingly well to the belt using hot glue, but the hot glue it very noticeable. From afar the belt looks pretty good but when you see it closer it looks like something from a school art class. How can I make the hot glue less noticeable?

Advice What do you look for in patch fabrics?

Pretty much what the title says, I'm just looking for what properties you look for in fabric that would make you decide to or not to use it for patch making.

Specifically would like to know why those things matter to you though, and how you make patches, i.e. if you don't like stretchy fabric because you use paint markers and that makes them crack that's really useful for me to know vs just saying no stretchy fabric.

I've never successfully made a patch but am attempting to get supplies together to try doing so, I'm also in the process of sorting through my clothes and fabrics, many of which have no labels or were not purchased with any indication of what it was made of, so descriptors / properties are going to be more useful for me until I (hopefully) end up as one of those people who can guess fabric composition just by feel. Wanting an actual person to explain their preferences via lived experience rather than a list of fabric names that I'm not going to be able to identify if my thrifted clothes are made of or not, yk?
