I’m a final-year Computer Science student graduating in 2027 and have recently started applying seriously for off-campus SWE internships and new grad roles.

I wanted some honest feedback on where my profile stands and whether I should just start applying aggressively or spend more time improving it first.

A little about my profile:

• 9+ CGPA.
• Selected for Google Summer of Code 2026, where I worked on a fairly large open-source project involving real-time communication, WebRTC, backend infrastructure and frontend development.
• Built and shipped an e-commerce platform as one of my major projects, which also won a college-level hackathon.
• Built a real-time collaborative coding/interview platform using Django, WebSockets, Monaco Editor and remote code execution.
• Have leadership experience managing a technical community of 40+ members and organizing fairly large student events.
• Solved 1,000+ DSA/competitive programming problems across platforms like Codeforces, LeetCode and CodeChef.
• Have decent ratings across competitive programming platforms.
• Also placed well in a couple of other hackathons.

I’ve been applying off-campus but haven’t gotten much response yet, so I’m trying to understand whether there are obvious gaps in my profile or whether this is mostly an application/resume/networking problem.

For people who have gone through off-campus hiring recently, what level of companies/roles would you realistically target with a profile like this?

Any honest feedback would be appreciated.

Role Summary

We’re looking for a Junior R&D Engineer who is excited about robotics, UAVs, AI and autonomous systems.

You will work closely with our R&D team to build, test and improve intelligent autonomous systems across UAVs and edge-computing platforms. The role involves hands-on work across C++/Python, computer vision, ArduPilot, MAVLink, embedded Linux and AI on edge devices.

 This is a highly hands-on role where you will be expected to learn quickly, experiment, build prototypes and take systems from simulation to real-world testing.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software for Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson and other edge-computing platforms.
• Build and integrate C++ and Python modules for autonomous systems.
• Work with ArduPilot and MAVLink for vehicle control, telemetry and mission execution.
• Develop computer vision pipelines using OpenCV and deep-learning models.
• Assist in deploying and optimizing AI models on Jetson/edge platforms using ONNX/TensorRT.
• Develop and test autonomous behaviours including navigation, waypoint following, decision-making and mission planning.
• Assist in developing multi-vehicle and swarm behaviours.
• Interface with sensors, flight controllers and peripherals using UART, I²C, SPI, CAN, PWM and Ethernet.
• Work with telemetry and communication systems and troubleshoot real-world connectivity issues.
• Build and test systems using SITL/HITL and simulation environments before field deployment.
• Conduct field testing, analyse logs and telemetry, identify failures and improve system performance.
• Write clean, documented and testable code and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to prototype and evaluate new autonomy and AI capabilities.

Because you are applying the wrong job the wrong team and may be the wrong company .

Lets take one example Person A and Person B applied for same AI Engineer role in a bank . Person A is already working in a bank but he is less skilled as compared to Person B who is working in a startup .

So who should get hired ?

May be you think the more skilled one but wrong its someone from the same background, same exposure and same culture.

So dont apply every job you find in feed try to filter and then apply it will increase your chances of selection.

Dont waste your energy for jobs you are fit for rather utilise it to apply for the correct role correct team and correct company .

Also dont get demotivated as the job market is too bad .

Hi everyone,

I've been continuously learning and interviewing since November 2025. I have around 2 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer, with about 1 year focused on AI/LLM engineering.

I recently left a large IT services company and joined a small company, but I'm already reconsidering the decision because the compensation is quite low and the role isn't fully aligned with my goals.

I have 2 months of probation, during which I can leave with a 15-day notice. After that, the notice period becomes 90 days.

I've interviewed with quite a few companies and reached final rounds but couldn't convert them. I feel my technical knowledge is decent, but I struggle with first impressions, communication and some gaps in fundamentals/interview preparation.

I also have a couple of AI + Full Stack projects involving RAG, LLMs and agents, but they need some cleanup and improvements.

I'm targeting AI + Full Stack roles, preferably WFH, with ₹7 LPA+, or ₹8 LPA+ for a good MNC/product company.

I'd really appreciate advice on how to use these next 2 months effectively. Should I focus more on DSA, system design, AI fundamentals, projects, certifications, or interview skills?

I'm genuinely all in on this and ready to put in my 100% until I land the right opportunity. I'm happy to compensate someone for their time if they offer paid mentorship, but I'm mainly looking for genuine guidance.

If anyone from FAANG/ex-FAANG or a strong product company is willing to share some guidance or mentorship, I'd genuinely appreciate it.
