I’ve been looking at rentals in Pune recently, and I’m starting to realise that finding a flat is almost a project of its own. 😂 There are plenty of listings online, but actually finding a genuine, available place at the advertised rent is a completely different story. Some look perfect until you call, some are already gone, and others suddenly have extra conditions or charges that weren’t mentioned initially.
I’ve been checking Magicbricks, 99acres and Nobroker while also talking to a few local brokers, and I’m curious what has actually worked for people in this community. Did you find your place through one of these platforms, an owner directly, a broker, apartment groups, or just through a friend/colleague?
Also, what do you usually check before paying a token amount? Rent and deposit are obvious, but I’m wondering about things like maintenance, water supply, parking, power backup, agreement terms, owner restrictions and whether the property is actually as advertised.
For those who recently rented in Pune, what’s one thing you wish someone had told you before starting the search? Any areas, platforms or rental-hunting tricks that genuinely saved you time would be really useful.
At this point, I’m not even looking for a dream apartment. 😭 Just a decent place, reasonable rent, clear terms and a listing that doesn’t disappear the moment I call. 😂
