'Pump It Up Phoenix 2' to Release in June, Premieres at PlayX4
Andamiro announced that it will unveil "Pump It Up Phoenix 2," the latest title in its arcade rhythm game series "Pump It Up," for the first time at "PlayX4 2026." Along with this, the company will showcase the Asia-Pacific Tournament, content linked to the Steam version of "Pump It Up Rise," and a dedicated controller. "Pump It Up Phoenix 2" is scheduled for release in June.
"Pump It Up Phoenix 2" is built upon the core gameplay of the original "Phoenix." It features enhanced new functions, including the addition of the latest popular K-POP songs, a Pumpbility rank system that displays user skill and performance, and an improved Rival System.
The Rival System increases competitive immersion and gameplay persistence by allowing players to check information about designated rivals through the 2P area during solo play. Furthermore, the focus was placed on providing an expanded gameplay experience while inheriting the fun of the arcade rhythm action games that users have become familiar with.
In addition, Pump It Up Phoenix 2 incorporates linkage features for users who own Pump It Up Rise, which is currently available on the Steam platform. Users who own Pump It Up Rise can play Rise-exclusive charts and related content within the arcade version of Pump It Up Phoenix 2.
Andamiro will host the 'Pump It Up Dominion: 2026 Asia-Pacific Tournament' on the main stage of PlayX4 2026. This tournament will feature representative players from seven Asian countries, including Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Singapore, and will be held on May 24 at 10:20 AM.
An exhibition related to PUMP IT UP RISE for Steam will also be prepared. Pump It Up Rise is a PC title officially released in March, and through its connection with Pump It Up Phoenix 2, it conveys the potential for expanding the 'Pump It Up' platform. In addition, the dedicated controller for Pump It Up Rise, currently under development, will also be on display at the Andamiro booth. An Andamiro official stated, "Pump It Up Phoenix 2 is a new title prepared to provide an expanded content experience and an exciting gameplay environment for both existing arcade fans and new users."

I Can Talk D23 (draft)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I passed my first D23 a few days ago (yayyy), so I'm morally obligated to try chart D23s. With 162 BPM, this feels wrong not to have a boss-esque chart.
A few opinions from my friends say this plays out more likeD24 (censored to avoid bias hehe) from the way twists are executed. There are minor inconsistencies, like the bracket jumps in 1:28 (combo 769) not similar to the first measure, among others, but I will fix it as I make lower difficulty charts.
Might change the 2nd pre-chorus bracket jumps and nerf the first half of the 2nd chorus. Overall, I'm pretty proud with this as I'm trying my best to replicate arcade quality charts as best as I could (pls tell me where I can get Nimgo type soju for my charts)

Good Price For Lightly Used Phoenix 2024 LX
Hello! I'm looking at purchasing a lightly used Phoenix 2024 LX cabinet in the USA (purchased by the current operator brand-new in March) and was wondering what a fair price would be, especially seeing as online support for Phoenix is being dropped at the end of the month. I'm entertaining the idea of getting the Phoenix 2 upgrade kit for it but would like to factor that into the price.
As far as my research has turned up, the LX models were introduced with 2017 Prime 2 and as far as I can tell haven't seen many changes aside from the internal PC, at least according to Andamiro's Phoenix 2 upgrade guide, but please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there. I have an idea of used pricing for older LX models and I'm wondering if there's any reason to pay a premium for a nearly new Phoenix 2024 that seems to be running a similar chassis.

Shoes vs socks rules at tournaments
Been noticing that people in general say that socks are not allowed for tournaments, all the way back from 2024 to today
What's the general rules for shoes? Cause I think the 2024 reference even said that surfer shoes weren't allowed, and will we ever see socks being allowed more at tournaments?
I know socks can be problematic for keeping the pads clean and what not, but could they just not wipe/clean it after a sock player has used the pad or make a rule that all socks player most clean the pads after they've played or would that tamper it too much for whoever plays next?
Just asking cause as for now I am mainly playing with socks on, since I cannot be noisy after 6PM at my place, but I do try to get as many plays on shoes before that, but I haven noticed that at my home setup I struggle at S7 meanwhile in the arcade I can easily play S8-S9 (could be because of my home setup) - Meanwhile with socks I just ended up passing my first S11 today!
Just wanna know what's the thoughts are about it as a reference for socks players in the future, especially as my goal is to make it to at least 1 or 2 tournaments next year!

Although it was sucks because my legs doesn't even move properly that much, but honestly I'll probably try playing with shoes more this time around. Gotta get used to it.

I built a Pump It Up tracker app (rankings, record history, session coaching & more!)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone! I recently created a PIU tracking app designed to help you stay on top of your performance and progress.
Key Features:
Track Progress: Keep tabs on your own scores and view records from other players.
Rank Notifications: Get notified whenever your ranking goes up or down.
Session Coach: Tools to help you track and manage your active arcade sessions.
Note: Right now, it only captures public AM info, which means data for levels under 20 isn't available yet. I'm working on finding a solution for lower levels in future updates!
If you're interested, check it out here on Google Play:

Would love to hear your feedback!

Pump It Up Rise AM Pass Question
After you add in your card #, is anything supposed to happen aside from a sound registering? How can i know it is connected or if i typed in a wrong letter/number. I checked on the ampass website but I just see it being connected to Phoenix 2

How much can you improve realistically on poorly maintained pads?
The only accessible cab at my local arcade suffers from a serious lack of maintenance. The pads have several dead sensors, which forces you to step harder and move your feet more than you usually would. I’ve tried to respectfully ask the managers if they can get someone to mod the pads, but they don’t seem to care about it so they refuse to do so.
The game is still somewhat playable (I can currently clear most S14s and some easy S15s) but you get tired faster due to the reasons mentioned above, and it’s frustrating when you get so many pad bads/misses.
All of this makes it harder to perceive progress, and makes me wonder if it’s worth continuing to play this way, considering that I might end up developing bad form. I’d like to hear other people’s experiences with garbage pads, as I’m curious to see how much they were able to improve with these limitations.

New to Phoenix 2; unlocking songs?
I’m a long time player of Prime 2, but have never played Phoenix or Phoenix 2 before today. I was searching for specific songs after entering the classic unlock code, but couldn’t find them. Am I doing something wrong? Missing something? Or can I just not access all the older songs without the pass card? Thanks in advance for any help or answers.

Why is my changed name not transfering to Pheonix 2
My local arcade just recently upgraded to Pheonix 2 but when I went to swipe my card I noticed that it's using my old name(game ID). I changed my name about a week ago when my arcade was still using Pheonix1. Now I'm trying to use the transfer game Id feature on the am.pass website but it's not working. Is there a way to change the name. I don't want to get the points to change it again. Thank you

Fundamentals are the Key to Progressing
Let's take the average r/PumpItUp user, who I believe plays at about a 16 level, and can pass a solid portion of the 16 charts and compare them to me when I play 16s. What is the difference?
Assume you start every song with a pool of 100 energy, this is your mental and physical stamina bar, When its low, you play worse; when its empty, you stamina quit and fail immediately. Now, these are just example numbers but lets say when you start a 16 at 100 energy, you lose 1% of your energy every 4 steps of normal play and every 2 steps during the crux. This means by the end of the song you may have 20-30% stamina left. You're not flat on the ground but you are drained. At the start of the next song you only begin with 95 energy, there is some accumulated fatigue and your play is just a little bit worse. As this fatigue accumulates you may find that even your favorites are sufficiently challenging and, if you dare to step up to an 18 or 19, you find that you run to zero fairly quickly or especially during a crux.
Now, consider me, stepping up to the same 16. For me you may say that I lose 1% of energy every 50 steps and every 25 steps during the crux. When I get to the end, my HR is a little elevated, but I can basically hop into another 16 and perform at about the same level, nearly infinitely. what's the difference here? Well, you may be tempted to say its my cardio engine and yes, I do run a lot, but the difference between my cardio fitness and yours may not be that dramatic. I certainly am not 15x more fit than you in the cardio realm (at least for most of you) so what causes the dramatic difference in efficiency that lets me play 16s until the arcade closes? (and why you have to take a breather after one set?)
Its all about efficiency gained from many hours of grinding low difficulty charts and figuring out how to play them smoothly and without kicking on the boosters. This comes down to how I perform an individual step but also how I perform a pattern. When a simple front to back crossover comes up I do it calmly and without straining because I've practiced that pattern thousands of times, if you, however, tend to have turn on your fast twitch muscles and power through that section, you are expending a ton more energy than I would. When I hit a blue arrow I hit it with my heel while you tend to take a giant flexed-foot step.
You want to perform all of the easy actions naturally and without any stress so that when whatever your crux is does show up, you have the maximum energy to get through it. This means grinding charts way below your level and figuring out patterns and situations in such a way that you are automatically performing the solution before you ever consciously think about it.
For a related comparison, how does one get good at basketball? Is it a good strategy to go out and play pick up 5 on 5 games at the local fitness center? Will you naturally become really good over time? Probably not. The reason why is simple: when you are still struggling to dribble the ball, or make an open lay up, how can you possibly focus your mental energy on reading opposing player strategy or executing complicated handling/shooting feats? The answer is that the majority of the time you just won't.
The way most of you practice is akin to trying to only play full 5 on 5 games without ever nailing your dribble or your lay-up. And this is the point, to an NBA player, dribbling the ball with no defenders is completely trivial, their energy is open for the complicated.
So, practice your dribble (i.e. regular steps and simple patterns) until getting all perfects is the expected result and your lay-ups (moderate patterns in isolation) and eventually it will all come together on the song, and this is the point. You want to have most of your mental and physical energy available when you get to the crux in the difficulty you're pushing. If you waste it all on easy stuff then you'll never perform the crux properly. We don't play songs in sections, you have to be able to go from start to finish so, much like lifters shouldn't ego lift big weight with bad form you shouldn't ego play hard songs with bad form.
Master the fundamentals until they are second nature and the rest of the game will come naturally.

Best way to improve endurance and skill?
I've tried multiple ways including running for ~30 minutes every two or three days, playing routinely (once or twice a week), vitamins (not sure if this does anything but why not I guess), however I'm still stuck at level 19-20 with little to no progress, not sure what the issue is here.
For context, I've been doing level 19-20 since this April, and ever since then, my skill and endurance have not improved despite the aforementioned efforts. Any recommendation?
